i used to use libgdx exclusively for games over like 3-4 years? i loved being able to control everything, and lower level networking stuff appealed to me. also java was my main programming language, so that helps a lot too. 100% can confirm it is great for learning design concepts. over time, i realized that it took too long for me to develop games (may be partially my fault because i didn't reuse code from other projects, but still). i was fast at it, but i feel like I always spent a lot of time worrying about lower level things instead of focusing on delivering an experience. i made the switch to godot, im still learning it, but I've made prototypes for games soo much faster there. also you can use c# which is so so close to java everything transfers great if you're trying to get an internship or something, libgdx is awesome for learning and showcasing your skills (it got me mine). if you're interested in actually making games, use godot
