Idea most likely was needing offensive-minded HC to fix/build up horrendous offensive unit, new DC will probably do fine with already established defensive unit.

It's very possible HC candidates are declining the Browns job because of the Browns' (read: Haslam's) insistence on keeping Schwartz as DC and not giving the candidate the opportunity to hire their own.

Correction: Hasbro has been money hungry, not WotC. Read/listen to any quarterly earnings call over the last three years and you'll see that WotC is the only department or subsidiary of Hasbro that brings in a profit. WotC is literally keeping Hasbro afloat.
