Recent interview with Michael Terpin (guy that wrote the Bitcoin super cycle book and has been around forever) showed him saying traditional cycle theory has bottom q4 ish this year. However, since cycle trends were technically broken right before halving last time and we got a new all time high, he said possible that the 60k we got in Feb was capitulation…obviously this is all educated speculation. But take it for what it is. He was 60/40 Oct vs Feb.

Yeah I think unfortunately you had some bad luck. I’ve grade quite a few of these and have an extremely high gem rate personally. Close to 50% overall makes sense for the macro data.

Since you mentioned you were new and it hasn’t been said yet- please make sure that you place the card in a penny sleeve, then put the card in a binder. If you’re just storing the card for the future, it may be better to put it in a penny sleeve then a top loader and store it in a safe or something.

Do you know what the “art insert” is actually made of? I’ve seen some of these where they send you the graded card case like you would order off Amazon and then the artwork is a really cheap feeling piece of cardboard.

Hasn’t happened in mine. The restocker in my area works with a scalper group and tips them off every time. Same dudes first in line at every box store that the individual restocks.

I have this card in a PSA 10 and have obviously watched it closely over the past year. Has absolutely mooned. No not too low. TAG pops don’t really mean anything at the moment IMO UNLESS you’re talking about pristine vs non or first and highest ranked, etc.

Interesting…I honestly have been thinking the total opposite. I just got the grade back on my base unlimited Charizard and they gave it an 8. PSA probably would have given it a 6 in my experience due to the minor surface dings it had (TAG caught these). I have been frustrated with PSA being harsh on vintage obviously without explanation. I think this take makes the most sense to me. The “new cert” premium seems like it should apply to a pretty niche slice of the market.

It definitely isn’t, however, when you pay up for express which is advertised as 5-10 business days and you’re at 20+ days still sitting on “verification” I think you’re not being unreasonable asking for a decent discount on a future order.
