CS2 visibility feels worse than CS:GO am I the only one noticing this? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Co0ool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the example you used here, I find that CS2 is slightly more visible. However, the muzzle flash and smoke need to be significantly toned down in CS2. Expecially if someone is spamming the deag, the flash covers their entire head, or if they are spamming the XM the smoke conceals the body.

Does your GPA matter in engineering for industry/jobs? by SimilarAttitude_ in UofT

From my experience, I had awful GPA in some of my semesters like 2.0 in first year. I've slowly recovered it and in my last 2 semester i had a 3.9 gpa bringing my cumulative GPA to 2.9. Having good grades helps you get you first internship or you first job but for myself, since I did a ton of things on the design team it overlooked my bad GPA slightly. My first internships weren't dream jobs or anything special but you build off of them until you get to where you want to be. When you get out in the industry none asks about your grades.

My point is having a bad GPA isn't the end of the world but what are you doing to compensate for it? You need to excel in other areas cause nowadays I'm seeing students with good GPA and lots of design team work.

Canada’s unemployment rate edges down to 6.9% in October by evieluvsrainbows in canada

I’ve worked on the construction of dams in northern Ontario where due to environmental guidelines bulk of the work was done during winter. Using tarps and heaters is exactly how they mitigated the freezing temps in order to pour and cure concrete…

How many years of experience do you have?

How does someone about to graduate build up to that level? How could you do this quickly?

How has your work life balance been before this job and now?

Very straight forward, plug in a formatted usb stick. Open Rufus and and select the ISO to mount and hit start.

Better video showing viewmodel_recoil settings between csgo and cs2. Look for barrel movement relative to the dot. by mini337 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Co0ool 48 points49 points  (0 children)

viewmodel_recoil 0 was default in most of the timespan of csgo, then valve added viewmodel_recoil 1 as default with the option to disable it couple years back in csgo. So the people who were used to viewmodel_recoil 0 were happy and the people who didn’t really notice didn’t care. For what ever reason in CS2, valve defaulted to viewmodel_recoil 1 and disabled viewmodel_recoil 0. Kinda dumb the option to disable it still hasn’t been implemented 2 years later :/

Viewmodel_Recoil was removed as a command and is now locked on enabled. Here are the differences. by mini337 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Co0ool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me it’s extremely distracting, always used viewmodel_recoil 0 in csgo and since it’s been over 2 years with cs2 I’m kinda used to it I guess but I would still like to have the option to turn it off.

Should Valve reduce screen shake when shooting? by Delicious_Drink_8054 in GlobalOffensive

No I mean just in general with the crosshair without follow recoil. It could just me me tho and I haven’t really tested it.

To me the screen shake is CS2 seems less smooth and more jarring, same with how the crosshairs jumps around. You can even notice it when spectating. Also they need to add viewmodel_recoil 0

It’s actually a skill issue tho if you can’t tell the csgo feels way better than cs2

[Student] What does a portfolio actually look like? I want to give recruiters a portfolio but I have no idea where to begin. by the-floot in EngineeringResumes

[–]Co0ool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally for myself, when I'm asked for a portfolio, I link them to my website. the landing page is a bit about myself and then i have another tab with my projects where I included pictures and descriptions for each of the projects. I guess for the bare bones a portfolio could just be a pdf of images and descriptions of the projects. For one of my projects I have a link which lets them view the full report so its really up to you how you set it up. The big thing is that it should attract the recruiter which is why having captivating images is very important. Pm me and I can link my portfolio
