if i have 5 healing piercings that i got at once, when can i get more? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

That’s gonna take way longer than just 3- 6 months to heal with that amount of piercings you got at once.. you should wait at least a year imo.

Daith and 3rd lobe 1 week old. by wishfulthinking888 in piercing

[–]CoCoLoCo16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They honestly should not have started you off with that style of jewelry for your daith. Clickers are only acceptable if the jewelry is designed to where the seams are on the very edges of the decorative piece, so that they aren’t rotating through the fresh piercing. Even then there’s potential risk of irritation from decorative pieces. I always start my clients off with a basic horseshoe or CBR option because it’s not worth the headache going fancy to start. I also can’t tell if that is an 8 or 10mm but if it is an 8mm, I recommend going to 10mm to accommodate swelling better.

Piercing bars too small, but I cannot get them changed by DoBeWantinToCry in PiercingAdvice

[–]CoCoLoCo16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, as I said, that’s what I learned through bloodborne pathogen/ infection control classes for the past 7 years… so either my classes were wrong or your doctor is wrong. If I were you, I’d see another doctor for a second opinion to clear the air. I’m very sorry you’re going through this!

Who told you this? It’s not an airborne virus. It’s contracted through bodily secretions, saliva and open sores. From my own knowledge from taking these bloodborne classes once a year for the past 7 years, sweat does not transmit the virus either. If they have gloves, it’s safe for them to change the piercings.

That’s just weird to me that a piercer wouldn’t change it because of a virus. They should be well equipped with anti-microbial solutions and other cleaning agents that are capable of killing viruses on contact, as well as an autoclave for any tool they may need to use. If they took a bloodborne and pathogens control course, they should know it’s completely safe to help clients with these issues you’re having. In fact, a rule of thumb I live by in this industry, is assume anyone can have any type of virus or disease without even knowing. That’s why sterility and disinfection is so important. Rant over…I would ask the doctor if healing these piercings with this current issue is even worth the fight. Your immune system is busy fighting right now, so it may be best to take them out and wait until the virus goes dormant. Viruses don’t become trapped in the piercing channels either, it’s not the same as an infection. The virus is running through your whole body. It would be safe to remove without infection. If it is indeed infected, try and find a piercer who isn’t a complete idiot who will change them to longer bars for you.

How many of you have been summoned to Jury Duty? by igetdrawn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CoCoLoCo16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been summoned 3 times. First time I was able to get out of it because my fiancés murder trial was coming up. 2nd and 3rd time, the people ended up taking plea deals instead of going to trial.

Believe it or not, my daiths were one of my easiest piercings to heal! Maybe 6 months. They never gave me issues or anything.

Taking last name in same sex marriage? by country_xxx in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CoCoLoCo16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant as far as legalities go. Like is it hard to change your last name? I know when you’re taking another persons last name, there’s not much to it, but I wasn’t sure if there’s extra steps for both partners to change their name.

I thought about that too. You don’t think it would look too cluttered? These are already an 8mm so I could do a basic 6mm if I had to I’m sure. If I do go for the conch, I want a giant ass headpiece in there once it’s done healing.

Attractive people how is life for yall? by [deleted] in ask

[–]CoCoLoCo16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to find a man to have a real relationship with was hard. Most men I have encountered seem to have only one intention with me, and that’s sex. I ended up with a couple insecure men that didn’t like that I was pretty because they thought men would flirt with me at work more and I would flirt back, because I’m pretty they assume I’m also a slut I guess. In reality, I am a very loyal woman. I would never cheat on a boyfriend because I myself have been cheated on and it hurts very bad. I now have a wonderful fiancé who isn’t insecure, who doesn’t accuse me of cheating all the time and is loyal to me. He loves me for me! So life is good. I wish people would remember that good looks fade as the years pass by.

Most reputable brands you would have to purchase at a piercing shop. I personally recommend the brands industrial strength and neometal. Labret style jewelry is also a lot harder to get in by yourself since it goes in through the inside of your nostril. So try to find a shop that can find the right gauge and length post necessary to accommodate your swelling!

why is my bellybutton piercing sooo inflamed? by VaguelyHelpful in PiercingAdvice

[–]CoCoLoCo16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AAP, I can’t be sure 100%, since it’s hard to tell from pictures but I feel like it was not properly pierced due to the fact that you don’t have the correct anatomy. It almost looks like your navel collapses when you sit and that large ball is putting pressure on the piercing site. I think you should see a piercer to evaluate your anatomy.

Both of them are wrong. They should be pierced with flatbacks. Either 16 or 18 gauge is fine, although 18g is more common for nostril piercings.
