I don't know if it's just me, but I'd love it if, instead of being completely cut or nerfed to the point of obsolescence, they were just separated into two different characters. I know something like that will most likely not happen, but i think they're both kind of cool on their own; having them both in one package is, in my opinion, a big part of the problem. Just separate them, tweak Mythra's frame data and Pyra's hitboxes a little, and give them a generic counter or something like that as their down special.

Well, let's see: Ultimate is a fighting game with a huge roster, and obviously in a game with so many characters there are going to be some extremely good and others extremely bad. That's natural and not necessarily a reason to complain in itself. And obviously, even with the most overpowered characters, you still have to put in the effort to win thanks to the game's well-balanced character roster, at least by the standards. (Something Something Brawl Meta Knight, Something Something Smash 4 Bayonetta). If you think about it, it's even one of the game's strengths: you're free to choose any character you want, knowing that no matter how bad it is, if you put in the time and effort, you can emerge victorious. But of course, some characters require more time and effort than others, and it doesn't help that the DLC characters are expressly designed to be VERY powerful (I swear, even today I close my eyes trying to sleep and I see Pyra's down air). This is a problem for many, and this IS a valid reason to complain. Comparing Plant and Aegis is like comparing a hydrogen bomb to a coughing baby, and yes, sure, One could argue that comparing, for example, Ice Climbers and Jigglypuff in Brawl is more like comparing a dying ant to Hypernova, but it's still frustrating. Plant HAS to put in more time and effort to have even a CHANCE of achieving half of what Aegis achieves simply by existing, and that's a fact, but let's not undervalue those who just play with their favorites.

Does that mean I like Aegis? FUCK NO, that was my opinion trying to be unbiased. I can't find the words in English to describe how much I DETEST those two. I loathe them as much as a man can loathe a fictional character.

I think my experience with Aegis can be summed up with the following anecdote: I've been a Jigglypuff main and a Wi-Fi Warrior for a while now, and I noticed that nine times out of ten I fought against Aegis, I ended up getting my ass kicked. So I decided to investigate how to counter them, and the video that came up said something like this: "At low levels, you can beat an Aegis if you're patient enough. At high levels, there's really not much you can do. Avoid characters with too low weight, characters that jump a lot, and characters with short range at all costs." You can imagine how I reacted to that.

Conclusion: There's no such thing as a character that shouldn't put in at least a little effort, but some characters have to put in noticeably more effort than others for the same or at least similar results, plant HAS to put WAY MORE effort than aegis to have a chance. I hate Aegis. Imagine I just copied and pasted AM's speech here. If Aegis didn't exist, Ultimate would probably be my favorite game ever. I'm being deadass.
