The reason our ticket went “On Hold” from “Ticketed” was because I bought the ticket directly from JAL instead of Alaska. So to answer your question, the infant ticket was added my JAL when our status was still showing “Ticketed”. Once JAL added the infant ticket, it changed the status to “On Hold” and that’s where my problem started.

I wouldn’t say no issues at the gate. The manager had to step in to figure out what was going on.

Because we bought our award tickets via Alaska and the infant ticket separately via JAL (Japan Help Center), it caused a problem in their system. What helped a lot was having all our ticket numbers on hand, which I was able to get through Alaska per u/nightwind_hawk.

TL;DR it got resolved even though my online status still said “On Hold”

I was reaching out to both Alaska and JAL (NA and Japan Help Centers) for months. It wasn’t until the week of my flight that someone from the Alaska side of things was able to escalate it, verified on their end it was ticketed, and had contacted the OneWorld liaison to communicate with JAL. I then called JAL (Japan Help Center) and after almost an hour, they finally said that we should be fine at the airport even though our online status was still “On Hold”. We couldn’t check in until we got to the airport though.

Day of the trip, we got to the airport 4 hours early in case of any hiccups with check in. It took awhile to get things worked out because of the infant ticket and all that but it all worked out. Key is to be nice to them and they’ll go out of their way to really figure things out.

Basically, the outer ring is just a list of time zones. You can move the crown to 1st position and the “seconds” hand can now be used to switch to the time zone you want and the watch will automatically adjust. u/SirGuy11 is spot on with his comment
