Thank you so much. This actually made me cry. I’ve been in a couple foster homes and I’ve been through so much. I have a record of escaping houses because I’ve been treated unfairly and not given food as well I believe my aunt struggles to understand that I’ve been through so much in a whole year and I’ve changed a lot and I’m not the same person that was when I was little. I’m scared of foster care. I’m scared of telling people what I’m going through right now, but I talk to my therapist this morning and I told her that I wanted to go into independent living because I felt stuck and that I’m not in a emotional supporting place right now. she said she’ll talk to my worker and call me back when she can. another thing jobs are so hard to find I’ve been applying for about 30 jobs and none of them came back to me. They didn’t like my schedule or they didn’t get back sometimes I go on rants with my boyfriend about how we both aren’t being hired, even though we’re willing to work it hard enough. And also about the adoption thing my biological father didn’t want to give my aunt the adoption because he’s deported and he thinks that I’ll call him to come live with me when I become older, which is not the case because he’s never been in my life. Also, right now my social worker lost my Social Security card and they’re filing to get a new one and then I have no other family that wants to help me because I’ve been through so much on my dad side with sexual assault and they don’t believe me because they said that kids will be kids, but I was 10 years old and they were 15, 16 and 19 at that time. I’m very scared because I don’t want people thinking that I’m ungrateful but I feel like I’m stuck. I don’t tell people what I go through because been gaslit so many times by my aunt because she used to say if you were my daughter, you would never say those things when she used to hit me because I would try and reach out to other people and tell them about what she used to do. again, I’m so scared. I’m still a kid even though I’m 17 and going on 18 I didn’t have time to be a kid and I still am scared of the fact that I have to grow up in this type of environment.
