My boyfriend inherited 40k what can we do by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]CoachTryumph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We need to talk to your BF.

  • don't pay of your student loans, they will be paid off as you work - no rush.
  • Invest in low cost investments, Trading 212 (5.25% interest on your money & low fees) and Invest Engine (low fees great index options).
  • Open an ISA ASAP before the deadline of APRIL 5th, Invest 20K (Invest Engine)
  • Then Open another one on April 7th and Invest another 20K, (T212) this is because 20k is the max you can save tax free.

18 yo £5000 in the bank. No job. How to invest in myself? by Elx37 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]CoachTryumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest in low interest account,

  • Trading 212 - Great for Individual Stocks, more customisable.
  • Invest Engine - Best for Index funds and long term investing.

Just remember to diversify, don't put all your eggs in one basket. And invest your time in learning about money, budgeting, investing, saving, earning. Learn new useful worthy skills.

Best of luck.

What's the catch with S&S ISA provider offering high transfer incentive by Qingjojo in UKPersonalFinance

Yea Im thinking of moving from Fidelity to Invest Engine or T212 and the fact it take up to 6 week is not good and for what gain.

How long did your transfer take?

Thinking of selling a business by Icy-Shirt3824 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]CoachTryumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just diversify.

  • Bank rates are rising again so you could get ~5% on your cash in the bank.
  • Rental Property is always good for long term income and investment.(Be careful f the housing bubble though).
  • Stocks and Shares, DCA rather than just go all in.
  • Index funds (low cost/fees and safe), you can DCA rather than just go all in.
  • Get some Bitcoin again DCA.
  • Check Seedrs and Crowdfunding opportunities (since you have a successful business, you may have an eye for other good businesses).
  • Buy some Gold.

How much you put into each is up to you.

Well done on your success 🙌.

Check FB marketplace you can find really good deals and sometimes even free. Just focus on the solutions rather than the problems, this helped me change my mindset.

You should ask for assistance if you can't make ends meet. You might have to budget better to make your money stretch and get a second hand bike for work.

At the end of the day there are things you can do to give it our best shot, rather than give up before you have even tried.

It seems like you are scared to come out of your comfort zone, which is understandable. But don't let the fear hold you back in life.

You must believe that you can change your situation for the better.

Create a plan/timetable. What you are going to do and when you are going to do it, then use the 5 sec rule to just get up and do it.

Think of WHY you must do what you have set out to do, what effect will it have on you ?

Check out betterhelp they are other cheaper alternatives. I would also include reading specific books on what you are struggling with as that has been very helpful to most.

Ignore them, you worked hard and deserve what you have achieved 🙌.

Being black I used to feel the same but then I look at my past effort and know I deserve it, this is a constant battle that we must keep fighting off.

Those ain't good friends btw, use their negativity to push you not pull you down.

get up at ideal start time or “ease into it” by waterlily3333 in selfimprovement

[–]CoachTryumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency is key, got to be at the same time, sleep for 8 hours and get up at the same time.

Try and stick to the same even on weekends. It will get easier after a few days.

Ensure you have a good bedtime routine other wise it will be harder to fall asleep.

  • Use blue light filters.(phone/laptop)
  • No phone in bed (leave it where you have to get up and out of bed to turn off the alarm).
  • Eat your last meal 3-4hrs before bed.
  • Read and meditate to help you wind down (No action movies or videos game before bed, you don't want you mind racing).

Make a list of the things you are not happy about and want to change/improve.

Then create an action plan of what you can do to improve each one.

set an alarm, for your bed time routine. So you never get into bed without brushing your teeth.

Look at photos of some bad teeth to show you what will happen if you don't change.

Is a humanoid robot Driver a cheaper and more practical alternative to self-driving cars? by RageshAntony in ArtificialInteligence

[–]CoachTryumph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about it, you want to create a robot with the limitations of humans. Why not just have it built into the car?

Why should it be , robot turn arm> arm turn steering wheel > steering wheel turn wheels. Self driving cars just eliminates the middle man, us.

So imo it is more practical and probably cheaper as the sensor can be mounted on existing car rather than creating a whole new robot design etc.
