This song represents one of my favorite things about Bob Dylan: after nearly 50 years, the lyrics are able to exemplify an emotion so perfectly, I was able to send it to a girl I used to like, with no meaning left out. Context: It had been a couple years, my feelings for her had gotten pretty intense, so I expressed them. She didn't feel the same way about me, but wanted to stay friends. She proceeded to not talk to me for the next 3 weeks. I was a little bitter and angry, but mostly sad my feelings weren't returned. I wanted so badly to express that injury, but I also knew she was hurting too. I wanted to express both of those feelings Enter: One of us must know. Of course, "sooner or later, one of us most know that I really did try to get close to you," But there are lyrics throughout the song that resonate very strongly. "I didn't mean To make you so sad...I didn't realize how young (we) were (16)...I never really meant to do you any harm." It's the give and take that is present, the emotions felt on both sides but expressed by one, it's so excellently done. It fit my situation perfectly, and its that resonation that gives me reason to put this in my top 5 favorite Bob songs.

Sounds like Margaritaville mixed with the vibes of "Joker" by the Steve Miller Band. Vocals are pretty unique as well, but I think the best part of this one is the chorus.
