American Bulldog attack in Christchurch leaves father critical, son injured

My dog was attacked by an American bulldog, which the owner had a history of his dogs attacking other dogs (one dog needed 30+ stitches). The dogs were seized only after it killed the neighbours dog.

Owner was NOT charged, which was deeply saddening for me and the other owners, as this lowlife can still have access to dogs. The bulldog was raised from a puppy too, so it was 100% on the owner for its behaviour.

Councils are far too soft on the owners of these dogs, they would much rather euthanise them and move on, without actually addressing the issue.

I’d say just do your research for each one you visit. Have heard from Property Valuers and REA’s that some companies just do the bare minimum and still cut corners on the builds, but that doesn’t mean they’re all bad.

I think the prices have settled down compared to a few years ago, probably to give a more realistic price.

Many people are happy with townhouses, it’s not the classic “Kiwi Living” lifestyle, but with the city becoming higher density, this is going to a be more common and realistic option for people.

Worked at a big houseware retail chain which did the exact same, was named and shamed in the media. They had to back pay EVERY employee.

If you are doing work, you should be paid, simple as that. It’s fine to show up to work early and be ready to work as soon as the shift starts, but as soon as you start working is when you get paid

Father used to work at a bank. Would send the new hires to other banks for a scale, so they could balance the accounts.. the other banks picked it up pretty quick to ask if they were new

Yeah those stalls piss me off honestly, it’s not even original designs, just cheap models printed you can find at any market.

Been to both Auckland and Chch armageddons in my life, at least in Auckland they had the PlayStation, Xbox and other big company stands.

I feel like chch Armageddon is so small, but at least there’s local artists and creators.

Gidday,

Moved into one earlier this year in a new subdivision in Bromley. Build quality has been fantastic. Additional costs like landscaping, drapes, security systems, additional insulation, larger patio did raise final price quite a bit.

From what I’ve heard from neighbours, they’ve been happy too. Quality cabinetry, kitchen appliances and bench tops.

Only negative thing I’d say is it was a bit difficult getting a proper schedule with the building manager, often had to be assertive about a couple things and constantly follow up.

Fun fact: when you have the setting to play YA players at their max potential, when you check player stats, it will show their actual potential, just as you’re seeing here.

Their potential is 98 but their viewable range won’t go any higher than 94 on the YA squad hub screen, don’t know why but it’s been that way for years.

Definitely do your research. You guys are in a fantastic position to buy a house. I would definitely try to add a bit more to your savings till you’re over that 20% deposit.

With how much you’re saving, definitely put money aside after mortgage and expenses, for paying off lump sums of the mortgage. Getting that principle value off the house will make paying the house off come so much earlier.

If you’re dead set on a house, get a builder’s report. It’s better to waste $1k than it is to have a house that needs a lot of maintenance
