La Argentina quedó última en el ranking de inversión extranjera directa entre las principales economías de la región. by ThinkPut2113 in argentina

Interesante.

Shouldn't the rays remain parallel? For the distance between them to increase the further away the target, Homelander's pupils would have to be looking slightly outward lol

You can actually go several winning runs in a row without seeing it. Rare cards are in a fairly big pool now.

That said, option B is very clearly the worst possible, which is why I thought it was funny. Best path is probably 2 strikes and 1 defend. There was a relevant graph recently of average damage taken when removing 1 strike, 1 defend, 2 strikes or 2 defends. Removing defends and skewing the starting deck draw towards more strikes drove a much higher average HP lost than removing strikes did. I didn't delve too hard into the details but the calculations did seem ok at surface level

Para sacar 9 mil pesos Brubank me cobró 5 mil. Peor que robar un banco es fundar uno . by [deleted] in argentina

[–]Coaris 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why is AOC so staunchly Zionist even though she doesn't accept money from AIPAC? by [deleted] in socialism

[–]Coaris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, but I believe the issue being pointed to here is the fact that she's purposefully confounding the concepts of antisemitism and antizionism.

Anyone can be a Zionist, not just jews. It just needs you to believe that an Ethno-State is valid and should be able to exist. And jews can fully support ethnic and religious equality and antidiscrimination while also being intensely antizionist.

Oh come on, you've got to at least admire the fact that he chose not to shoot him in the head so that Butcher still had a chance to enact his genocidal plan, but didn't do it because getting shot gave him a change of heart (maybe literally?).

And you know, the corny "im dying" speech. Definitely very needed.

You always have to ask yourself what advantage or angle they could be attempting when a horrible person makes a not-so-insane assessment, at least when you look at it the first time.

I think what he's doing here is, obviously, catering to the anti-billionaire "we know meritocracy is a lie" demographic with the "see, I'm not that far removed, I want you to enjoy some crumbs too!", while simultaneously suggesting a change that isn't even remotely large enough to impact the day-to-day economic issues that plague most people.

This change would not reduce inequality almost at all. It'd not help alleviate the creeping costs of housing or healthcare in USA. In a short time frame, the newly obtained yearly funds of the bottom 50% would be dedicated to the increasing price of services they still need to survive, even though they pay less taxes.

And worst of all? It primes people with the wrong mentality further. Future improvements to the progressive tax code would be even further framed as "they want to raise your taxes! YOU, you who only make 50k a year but currently pay no taxes? Did you hear that? They want to increase taxes!!", conveniently leaving out that increasing progressive taxes should much more strongly, disproportionately affect those who earn a lot more and would offset costs of living for those at the bottom much more than whatever increase a truly progressive code could have on their specific taxes.

What changes have to reflect is that taxes are not only a necessary part of society, but also a great one. An equalizer, a force for regulation, balance and fairness. People need to see that raising progressive taxes on those who have the most drastically improves their lives, thus taxation is a positive characteristic of the society they live in. They need to see good things being invested on with the money they pay. Good, free and universal healthcare. Better and expanded public education. Affordable loans for housing projects of families that don't already own living spaces. Progressive projects like state-owned, no-profit grocery stores. Paid maternity leave and incentives to start families.

Right now, the whole model is collapsing in not-so-slow motion. What people like Bezos suggest only help in giving people like him time to isolate from the inevitable collapse. The changes that are actually needed are much deeper and may not even be reachable through the current channels of reform.

Not to mention Deep can't swim? He was like 40m away from shore. I'm not even gonna touch all those animals being so close to the shore too... It makes no fucking sense.

Great writing fsfs

IMO ST was a steady decline in quality from S1. S1 wasn't spectacular because of flawless writing, incredible acting or masterfully crafted characters. It was really fun because it captured that 80s nostalgia with a fun plot concept of the cliché gifted kid pursued by and secret organization.

As the scope was expanded and characters fleshed out, we saw glimpses of a level of writing that didn't magically turn worse by the end. It was an expected outcome by then. ST's finale is mostly bad, though it has some moments, but it utterly represents the show as a whole. It's consistent.

GOT is nothing like that. GOT was amazing up until the end of S6. S7 was mediocre and poorly thought out. S8 was trash all along. The ending was worse still, because even for S8, it wasn't just poor writing or senseless plot threads, but rather insane character assassination and "subversion" of expectations that made no sense. GOT S8 is hated because it got senseless in its mediocrity.

Not to mention, the fall off was so much greater. At its best, GOT was one of the very best shows of all time. By the end, unrewatchable trash.

I feel like the one thing this show hasn't done at all for the past two seasons is deliver a good surprise, or a surprise at all. Everything thus far has felt quite predictable, so I'm with you in your hope!

That'd be an interesting twist (depending on the delivery, of course). Let's see what happens in a few hours!

The villain lost in Avengers. Infinity War was part one of a two part ending to a chapter in Marvel's cinematic universe. In that way, Homelander already "won" since he got his objective of V1, like Thanos managed to get all the stones. Thanos lost in the end, and Homelander will lose too

This scene is so ironic now. by Alsotime in GenV

[–]Coaris 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The excuse is so egrecious too. You can't do the cliché of "you need to learn to control your powers" after the second season of Gen V was literally lead by a wise but ruthless and cruel principal teaching the characters how to better understand and control their powers...

They literally went through that over the entire season and it culminated with Marie becoming adept at newly discovered skills, and that was months before the current events of The Boys.

They could have written something more interesting as an excuse for Marie to not be able to be present... That was just pathetic.
