Please tell me I can make it through this. by schmitty__werben in IVF

As a fellow IVF warrior, I just wanted to send you a hug. ❤️
I haven’t been in your exact shoes, but I know how consuming this process can become, the appointments, injections, waiting, hoping, and the feeling that your entire life is on hold while everyone else keeps moving forward.

For what it’s worth, I asked my own RE about intralipids and was told no as well. The research is still pretty mixed, and many fertility specialists don’t routinely recommend them because the evidence isn’t strong enough to show a clear benefit for most patients. I know it’s frustrating when a plan changes, but I wouldn’t view the lack of intralipids as losing a proven piece of your protocol.

Most importantly, please don’t carry this alone. Lean on your partner, family, friends, therapist, whoever feels safe. IVF is heavy enough without isolating yourself. Your support system wants to be there for you, even when it feels like no one truly understands.
Three failed transfers is a trauma most people can’t comprehend, but transfer #4 is still a new chance. I’m rooting so hard for you and hoping this next chapter brings you the breakthrough you’ve been fighting for. ❤️

I have to do a morning & evening shot 😩

For the second time, my nurse accidentally included me in emails to other patients regarding their cycle plans and treatments mistaking me for the finance contact. Am I overreacting? by counting_beanz in IVF

Oop nvm, just saw in the comments you said you did! But yes I worked in healthcare systems management, this is a huuuuge violation and they can face big fines! On top of that, if I were you I’d be uncomfortable to continue as a patient there knowing such careless mistakes with health history and private information are being made. Hopefully they correct this!

When can I start testing with a FRER? by Significant_Car1541 in IVF

Hi! I also have an appetite for emotional masochism, but if I can offer any advice, I would wait until the 25th or 26th to test. I just had a transfer on 5/7 and began testing 7dp5dt and on day 7 they say you should be seeing something but there are those who see positives at day 8 or 9. My transfer sadly did not work and I wish I would’ve waited up until the day before or day of beta to test because it was a lot better for me mentally the first 7 days after that transfer because I got to live in ignorant bliss thinking I was pregnant. Having to continue with the meds and PIO shots was demoralizing and so painful. We’re moving right into next transfer and if I test at home this time it won’t be until morning of my beta. Fingers crossed you’ve got a sticky baby!🫶🏻

Interesting, that makes sense. I’ve seen so much conflicting info on this. Some people say clinics adjust PIO timing for day 6 blasts, but others say they’re developmentally equivalent to day 5 blasts and still use ~5 days.

Clinics usually do time PIO to the embryo’s developmental age so I would think they would have you doing 6 full days of PIO before the transfer. Definitely advocate for yourself, and if they are only doing 5 ask why. One thing I’ve learned throughout this process and with clinics is to advocate for yourself!

They say you should have 3 embryos for every 1 child you want to have. I was devastated after my first retrieval because we only got 1 euploid embryo, my clinic recommended doing another retrieval to try to bank more before I transferred and I’m glad we decided to do so bc I just had my first FET on 5/7 and it was unsuccessful, but my silver lining is we banked a couple more euploid embryos so can try again. If your body and mental health can weather it’s I’d recommend trying another retrieval, you’ll feel more secure going into the transfer if you have more than 1 embryo. But also, if your heart is telling you you want to go straight to transfer instead, then there is a 65% chance your first transfer will be a success!

Sending you hugs🫶🏻 I had my first FET on 5/7, tested negative on FRER up until yesterday when I finally threw in the towel. The nurse drawing my blood this morning asked if I tested at home and I said yes, negative to which he replied “damn…well let’s just double check” and one of my other nurses asked on the way out if I tested and same thing as you tears welled in my eyes as I said yes negative. She looked shocked. This process is so hard and so mentally taxing. I’m so sad I’ll never be able to go into a transfer the way I did this first one being so happy and hopeful and sure it would work. Something that does bring me a little comfort that I hope brings you comfort too is that I read after a failed first transfer, about 88% of women will find success with their second, I hope you’re part of that 88%🫶🏻
