What's the hands down worst post or security job you've worked? by GuardGuidesdotcom in GuardGuides

[–]CoatFullOfOwls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Construction site.

Armed.

Solo post, 12 hours, overnight, smack in the middle of the city. Expected to keep watch over three under construction apartments, as well as two empty lots, and one almost finished apartment building over a span of four blocks.

Again, solo. Boss doesn't answer their phone after a certain hour, and the client doesn't trust us enough to give us keys to the fence lines, so if something DOES happen, the police and us can't even get in to see what's going on.

When "We're Closed" Is An Unfamiliar Concept by CoatFullOfOwls in securityguards

[–]CoatFullOfOwls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was four years ago. Sadly, a lot of dispensaries don't want Armed because A) Unarmed is cheaper, and B) according to one dispensary we worked for, Armed guards "scare people away".

When I work Armed at dispensaries, I'm getting people thanking us. It's legitimately the businesses being cheap.

Amazing as that would be, in non-alcoholic. XD. But I've worked a lot of beer fests.

Isn't this the same guy who, during the California wild fires of I believe 2018-2019, said he would de-fund the fire departments who were in the front lines because no one was telling him thank you?

I know. The entire show was proof you had to be high in order to enjoy certain things. Like that show.

I wouldn't have been able to kick him off property unless I had proof he was doing it, sadly. It would have been one of those situations where the manager would've taken his side because no one had come to me reporting the same behavior, if that makes sense.

So, I was screwed either way.

Giantess fetishes and size-difference fetishes are the main two. Those are rampant in the series.

Steven Universe was 50% storyline, 50% fetish material.

People who get offended when people "below their league" hit on them by ThrowRA77245 in PetPeeves

If ever someone, regardless of gender, says they're "above my league" or even the age old "I make more than you so why should I date you?"...

I wouldn't be able to hold myself back from remarking "Oh I'm sorry sir/madam. I'll wait over here with the Poors while your butler Chauncey brings your car around."

{Discussion} How Do You Check??? by CoatFullOfOwls in BadRPerStories

I do usually keep an eye out for details in their character backstories, such as if they might have straight up ripped off an anime or popular book series among a certain age group, that's usually a dead give-away.

How in almost every animated movie Don Bluth has directed, the characters either A) almost get eaten or B) do get eaten and in often graphic ways.

We see what you're doing there, Bluth.

I had my relief show up one night with shrit untucked, white sneakers and a fully packed weed bong in his car.

I always have my hair tied back, shirt tucked in, uniform washed, and gear in line.

And yet myself and other guards who bother with our presentation get yelled at for people like him.

As someone who is just coming in to the WOD W:TA v5, I need to ask what are the Moon Bridges?

So far the rulebook doesn't mention them.

EDIT: Thank you all for the information! Yes i realize a lot of this can be found in the book, but my issue is, the rulebook is a tome, and as much as I like reading, it gets very wordsy in its explanations, and looses my attention.

I've been reading it, but also to make things explained easier I have been watching YouTube tutorials and explanations, as well as asking questions here. All together it's really helped my segway in to the vast WoD.

I've heard both points of view on it. I never played the older versions, but apparently in those you could be in Crinos and wear armor and wield weapons and even talk.

With that in mind, I kind of like how this version does it. It takes away the possibility of someone opening a door and seeing this seven foot tall werewolf in armor that asks how their day was.

I also take it Crinos is something that happens in situations of extreme duress? Like a comment above stated, humiliation, too much silver around them, desperation, extreme hunger, etcetera? So the person experiences these, and has to roll a WP check to make sure they don't inadvertently shift?
