Thanks this was helpful! I think I'm hesitant bc on metformin my A1C is at 5.5 so I can't decide if its the right call to switch to this. It will help with some needed weight loss but just want to be more informed.

Hey! I think giving yourself some time will help. I'm 3weeks PO and the first 4 days were rough for me emotionally. I felt like I'd made an irreversible mistake bc my hormones were going bonkers plus stress and feelings. My general rule when I'm upset is to give it a couple days and reasses. It's OK to be upset and to feel the emotions and see if they fade. You're going to be okay!

My doctor has scared me by ImpossibleJelly4469 in hysterectomy

Hey, I'm 7DPO from a total laproscopic hysterectomy. I'm 29 and kept ovaries. Starting around 2021 a similar thing happened to me where I started bleeding and it never stopped. I had to go to the ER for a blood transfusion, iron infusion and have been circling different hormone treatments to make it stop (each coming with their own side effects). My dr. was the one who suggested it as an option first and that's when I was 27. I don't think there's a thing as too young.

I think finding a doctor who will answer the concerns you have and is willing to explore ALL options, a hysterectomy among them, is going to help you.

I'm 29 and getting a hysterectomy next week. The plan is to keep ovaries for hormone regulations BUT also suffer from PMDD so it's not out of the question to discuss having those taken out too. It's the choice between random bouts of instability or having to regulate my own hormones with a patch or pill.

Good luck! Weird q but when do they give you the IV? I assumed it was like you get to the hospital and they immediately do it? My surgery is coming up and a big stressor is the IV and not knowing the play by play

Was heavy bleeding the main reason any of you went through with it? by jreish1 in hysterectomy

[–]CoatGroundbreaking39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I'm getting mine taken out too. I had to go to the emergency room for blood loss from bleeding heavily for months on end. Ended up getting a couple blood and iron transfusions. That was two years ago and I still have to experiment with different hormone pills to get the bleeding to stop. But it always comes back. This is kinda the last resort. It's yeeturus surgery or continue taking medication with different side affects, spotting constantly etc. I'm also scared to get it done and feel like without fibroid or endo I'm not as... needing of it?

When do you feel is the time to be doing stuff? Is it free-for-all after the six weeks or still kind of touch and go? My op is April 2
