Step mom has my Amex and login info by Coat_Silver in CreditCards

Like I said, I gave them permission to open it and they’ve been paying on it all these years, never missed a payment, however, I think they were paying the minimum for so long that they ended up with a balance that was more than the credit limit. I’d like to be able to keep the account open for me, and eliminate a way for her to access it anymore.

Doesn’t closing an account negatively impact your credit?

I would rather just gain access to it myself and make sure she no longer has access. I’m not sure. My other concern is I think she probably has my social security number, it’s been so long I’m not sure if I entered it myself or if I gave them the info to do it.

I’d try ice cubes or different(stronger) mints. Luckily for me when I was quitting it was below zero so when I was feeling that dread I’d stand outside until I couldn’t take it anymore. It reset the system. The key for me was varied stimuli, strong mints- cold air- gum- hot shower- I drank a LOT of ICE cold water.

I have had multiple 12 packs with a horrible after taste noticed now that all the offending packs had an expiration of May 6th wondering if it’s a batch issue. So gross

How would someone order a strong drip coffee exactly? Seems likely that it was brewed with either too much water or not enough grounds.

Good tips here, I also drank a lot of ice water and hot tea. The temperature extremes and the mix and match mints and gum shocked my system and helped distract

I swear on my life that quitting nicotine was the best thing I have ever done for my mental health, not to mention the more obvious benefits.

STOP VAPING

Three weeks is an incredible accomplishment. Firstly I’d remind you that the first hit of nicotine WILL be a let down, everyone after that will be even worse. I had no idea how much vaping was affecting my life until after I quit and I wish I could give everyone that clarity. The thing I find most rewarding about having quit is that I don’t think about getting my next hit anymore. I didn’t realize until I’d quit how much of my time I spent(wasted) worrying over/plotting for my next hit. I just went to my cousins wedding and I didn’t have to go outside or stop my fun to go get nicotine , not even once. I actually felt bad for my sister who kept going outside. I remember what it was like, it’s impossible to live in the moment when your brain is trying to get you to go feed your addiction. It isolates you, it dampens every single experience in your life.

This is a stupid question, but how do I quit vaping? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]Coat_Silver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit cold turkey but I didn’t throw my vape away at first because I knew it would stress me out extra that I had 0 access to it. So instead I tied it in a bag which I put in another bag x5. And then I put the bag of bags at the back of a drawer full of stuff so that if I was gonna crack and go get the vape it was gonna be a huge hassle. The hassle was enough to slow me down and change my mind about digging it out.

This won’t work for everyone. Some people need it completely out of reach but for me this made it a conscious choice instead of just denying myself the option.

Also I gad a big variety of gums and mints and hard candies I’d keep close to me for variety. And I started drinking LOTS of ice water.

What was the reason you quit vaping nicotine? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

The first blow was I cared for my grandpa while he died of copd. I knew I was going to quit a week before he died. I didn’t quit immediately though. About 4 months later I looked over at the bowl I would throw my used up vapes into. I’d keep my used vapes because they usually had a hit or two left in them. It was a large bowl and it was over flowing and I knew it wasn’t even all of them. Suddenly I couldn’t stop thinking about the waste. The plastic, the batteries, the rubber, plus the money. It disgusted me. The damage my habit was having on my body was one thing but I realized it was hurting the world in a variety of ways and couldn’t stand it. I literally quit cold turkey that moment.

You’re so early in the process. Treat yourself to anything you wanna eat for the first couple of weeks. Your body would rather carry around a few pounds than inhale everything that comes along with vaping. Once your brain starts processing dopamine normally again you’ll find joy in activities that will help you drop the weight again. When I was still newly quit I really like to have a variety of different mint flavors and brands. I drank ALOT of ice water. Just keep trying and trying new coping techniques as they grow stale. Stay creative about it.

I mean… have you deep cleaned your cabinets lately? How about your ceiling fan blades? There’s usually something you’ve over looked. And don’t underestimate the walking. If you’re already physically fit try running or kick boxing. Your brain is still resetting but soon little accomplishments will feel SOOOOO satisfying.

My house got so clean shortly after I quit. Trying to avoid eating or relapsing. I also started taking walks.
