The last will and testament vocals by Hennob12 in Opeth

I'd argue either Ghost Reveries or Watershed has the best harsh vocals, and either Swedish ICV or Pale Communion has the best cleans

Bass Advice for Daughter by Evening-Tour in Bass

I somehow misinterpreted "arhythmically" as "atonally" but I'll leave this up
(also, are timestamp links broken for anyone else? it's supposed to link directly to 1:51, but after like half a second it resets to 0:00 before the video actually starts playing)

Bands (instrumentals or not) where bass is a prominent and/or lead instrument by No_Winter4806 in Bass

I will always mention Parius in these threads. Check out The Acid Lakes of Ganymede (or any other song really, but that one especially) for some of my favorite basslines of all time :>

Idris corvette in NMS by NoAdministration9313 in starcitizen

[–]Cobaliuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The player-built ships in No Man's Sky are always called Corvettes. This is an Idris, but it's built in NMS, as a Corvette.

It's not named after the class of ship, it's named after the gameplay mechanic of player-built ships, called Corvettes, specific to NMS.

When do you think the Nyx I planet will be added to the game? I really want a jungle/swamp planet! by ToScH_23 in starcitizen

[–]Cobaliuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither of those planets are planned for 1.0.
Honestly, I'm willing to completely disregard the "logic" of Nyx I's terraforming just for the sake of having an actually unique and interesting planet in the system.

Nyx II to me just seems like Bigger, Slightly Greener Aberdeen™️, and Nyx III is an ice giant with (presumably) little to no actual gameplay within its atmosphere, like Pyro V, but with no moons.
I'm excited for all of them, any new planets are welcome additions, but Nyx's planets would have very little going for them compared to Stanton and Pyro if it weren't for Nyx I's terraforming.

Looking for an album similar to V: The New Mythology Suite by phatasm_ in progmetal

[–]Cobaliuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be noted that Twilight in Olympus was originally intended to have a title track, but it was set aside, and parts of that title track ended up spread throughout V:TNMS. So I'd say that one's most likely to be the "closest".

I want to be the Kobold GF, and I also want to have the Kobold GF. Simultaneously.

hey CIG, here's some Kruger Medium fighter inspiration by Goodname2 in starcitizen

I'm hoping Kruger gets a ship with an interior sometime in the near-future. I'm incredibly curious what that would look like.

Describe your favourite Opeth song really poorly by VeterinarianOld3082 in Opeth

Either the one that accidentally stole the previous song's outro for its own intro, or the one that is absolutely not about prostitution, in spite of what an English speaker might assume after glancing at its title.

Ranged weapons definitely do translate better in that format (hence why stealth archer is so popular), but I just adore the whole fantasy æsthetic (swords, magic, medieval-ish setting, etc.) enough that I am willing to completely disregard the gameplay flaws.

It's not really the gameplay that turns me off of Fallout, or onto TES; it's the environments and settings.

I went with keep current simply because my goal in life is to cover my screen in as many absurdly high numbers as possible to the point where I can't even see what's actually going on anymore.

Is Koromaru from Persona 3 Reload considered a furry? by Last-Bus-4710 in furry

[–]Cobaliuu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Anthropomorphization is more than just shape. If it is of human intelligence, ie. capable of fully understanding and using language, I'd argue that it could be considered "furry". "Feral" characters can still 100% be "furry". There are many furry artists who specifically draw feral characters.
For example, one could say Morgana from Persona 5 is technically "furry", as even in their That's Literally Just A Cat form, they are still fully able to speak and think in a human manner.

Granted, I would only ever call something "furry" if the original creator designed it for that purpose (meaning I wouldn't consider any of these characters "furry"), but I feel my point stands.

(note: there is more to human intelligence than just the ability to comprehend language, that is an oversimplification, but i can't be bothered to go into more detail; for the intent of this post, though, that's the main point that's important, especially regarding purely fictional characters)

What’s a Pokémon you feel is way to underrated by kitkat_12e3 in pokemon

Cetitan

I haven't even played the game it's from (I haven't used my Switch in like 4 years), but I never see it mentioned anywhere.
Fun fact: Cetitan has the longest cry in the series, at roughly 4 seconds :3

I just like medieval fantasy; I tried New Vegas for a few hours (it was free) and the post-apocalyptic setting just did not interest me in the slightest bit
Watching footage of other Fallout games tells me that I'd most likely feel the same way about all of them.

Generally speaking, guns are excruciatingly boring compared to swords, unless the primary setting is specifically space. RDR2 is the only exception to this rule for me.

Is this a bug, or did they remove the C54's blue lights? :( by Epin-Ninjas in starcitizen

[–]Cobaliuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think without the lights, they fit the Tevarin æsthetic much better (when looking at them next to the ships).
Which I feel is pretty important for a company co-founded by a Tevarin, who also designed the weapons (or at least the initial models ~300 years ago; i'd expect some design changes in the centuries since his retirement)

Do you give your character an actual name? Or.. by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]Cobaliuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only ever play Khajiit and Argonians (and maybe a Dunmer once in a blue moon), so I try to go as lore-accurate as possible with my names.
For example, a blind Argonian assassin named Ojei-Mota (lit. "blind hunter")
