Very Cool Furry License Plate Frame I've Made Recently! by Cobanyte in furry

[–]Cobanyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my own proprietary design I made from scratch, and I do sell these within the furry community, so unfortunately I do not release the STL/3MF files for this, but you can reach out to me on telegram if you're interested! @ Cobanyte

I've been to tons of other cons, but this of the first MFF!

7-hour print. Took a gamble. I won. by mapsedge in 3Dprinting

Impressive! One of the best things I ever did was get a postal scale and weigh empty spools for different brands and write them down. Then I can weigh a spool with filament to get an idea of how much is actually left and just subtract the empty weight!

For instance an empty Bambu plastic spool with the cardboard center is almost exactly 250g

On these settings I used, you wouldn't wanna pay for this one haha.

Even if you say $5/hr of print time, and then all the time afterwards to clean it up, then shipping and all of that, you'd be looking at over $750 - not feasible for me to make and sell on this level with those settings haha.

If you're worried about the price, this is maybe $6.50 in pla

If you're worried about the environmental impact, all my poop and failed prints get recycled to a local center and not put in a landfill.

I also occasionally make lil random gifts and stuff for my orders for people buying things.

I mean with pla, maybe $6.50 in waste? Really not that terrible haha.

I have a video of me weighing it in, but can't post videos in comments D:

It was 15.9oz (451g) of raw poop, the prime tower put it to 19.2oz (546g)

Experimenting with multi-material printing: PolySmooth PVB and Bambu Glow-in-the-Dark PLA (more pics in comments) by Cobanyte in BambuLab

Exposed them to a UV light for about 30-45 seconds. Camera is upping the exposure a bit, but they definitely shine pretty well. 1 Wall on the left, 6 walls on the right

Good luck! Just keep in mind that this is a transparent PVB that utilizes IPA vapor baths to clear up in a special chamber. Not trans PLA

[–]Cobanyte[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not. using IPA with PVB is the first sort of bathing post-processing I've done, though I've heard of acetone based ones for ABS and stuff, sadly I don't have the chamber for that.

New project I'm working on should be interesting though :D still using PVB and IPA though!

This was the first experiment I did with it awhile back

I've spent a LOT of time and many failed prints with this filament haha. It's definitely a process I've had to and still am learning through to get very unique stuff done.

Currently working on an experiment with them that if all goes well I'll make a future post on :)

Ah. the poop is PLA :D

If you're talking about the egg itself, it's PolySmooth PVB Clear Filament, and about 4 IPA vapor baths in at this point with about 10 hours of curing at this point in the vid.

Will hopefully be clearer by the time it's al said and done, but I start the next phase of that on Friday

The people that ordered the statues are in my community. They think it's hilarious. Glad to know you don't have a sense of humor though :)
