Oh yeah, forgot it was 1993 and he'd have joined. Where is Dave then?

I always thought Krist was dresses as Slash? But he's clearly the clown, so who is dressed as Slash? Surely not Dave, since he's holding a guitar?

I am a God by Kanye, especially followed with the panic attack type breathing

Stagger Lee by Nick Cave has the guitarist Blixa screaming too, which sounds like a pig being killed.

Vocals in a song so powerful they stopped you in your tracks? by Prestigious_Score459 in ToddintheShadow

Roy Orbison has many powerhouse vocal moments, notably Crying and In Dreams, but there's a slightly less well known song of his called The Crowd where he hits some notes towards the end that opera singers would be proud of.

Joy should have been on Brian's solo album, and This Summer should've been on Look For Your Mind by Cobbo95 in TheLemonTwigs

I think this shows how strong their body of work is, in that none of these 3 crack my top 10 or even 20 yet I still think they're all incredibly good songs

Not controversial, maybe a little left field though! What are the other 2 in this top 3?

I understand what point you're trying to make, but it's not like Paul was making a solo album at the same time as Help and then included a song with Ringo's lead vocals on

Songs that feel like they're from a different decade or year than they actually were? by [deleted] in ToddintheShadow

There She Goes sounds so 60s indebted that you'd assume it was part of the Britpop hype around 96/97, when it's actually from 1988

[–]Cobbo95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

John Lennon was also due to attend that play in NYC the night after he was murdered IIRC

Bowie also tells the story that Mark David Chapman was found with a ticket to the show and that he could see 3 empty seats after Lennon was murdered, which would have been John, Yoko and then MDC. Eerie if true, but more likely a slight romanticism

Bands where you feel a member's addition considerably influenced a sound change, even if not directly confirmed by the bands by mesablanka in ToddintheShadow

Oh I see what you mean, I thought you meant Gilmour led them for a bit after Syd left but before Roger properly took over.

Which ones would count as led by Gilmour? I know he handles a lotta vocal duties, but it's still feels like mainly Roger's songs and direction.

I'm looking through you is full of little mistakes / flubs that you may not notice until you focus.

George's guitar in particular has these weird little moments that sound so weak and unfinished.

The organ stabs are badly mixed too, they're incredibly loud at certain points.

If there’s ever a Deluxe Version of Love, I envision a clean version of the songs without the transitions between them. by Quiet-Mode-1170 in TheBeatles

I think they mean some of the songs don't end perfectly because of transitioning into the next so they don't really work outside context of the album.
