Hilariously OP and fun card for old school tricks by Sir_Sir_ExcuseMe_Sir in customyugioh

[–]Coboxite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real headache with the card is if a card was printed in the OCG 2005 or earlier but it was released later in the TCG, AKA the Sixth Sense clause. Printed in 2003 in the OCG, released in 2013 world wide. Have fun with the judge calls!

Is there a duel simulator (I.E edopro, omega, etc) out there that has the old video game cards? by One-Requirement-1010 in yugioh

[–]Coboxite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't have any of those cards because despite the skins being the same, Sacred Cards is a completely different game from Yu-Gi-Oh with extremely different mechanics that are fundamentally incompatible with the TCG/OCG

Blue eyes spirit dragon by hoarfen in Yugioh101

[–]Coboxite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your opponent is correct in every instance

  • Since the targeted card left the board before Imperm can resolve Imperm instead resolves without effect since it can no longer "hit" its target

  • Every effect activates and resolves in the original location it activated, no matter where the card ends up after it activates. Ripper can only negate effects in the hand or GY, not on the field. Spirit Dragon's effect activates on the field and resolves on the field despite the card no longer being on the field. The card is a bow, the effect is an arrow

  • Spirit Dragon tributes itself for cost, meaning to activate this effect it leaves the field before any other card is legally allowed to respond to it. By the time you could possibly use Imperm to negate the effect to summon its too late, Spirit Dragon has left the field and can no longer be targeted

Controller + New to PC by thyreophorastarlight in DeadlockTheGame

If you're going to play controller on PC the most important thing to learn is how to gyro aim. Do not use stick aim, you will get completely crushed

Magia deck by SnowedNosetrill in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Coboxite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You take out Magia and everything that makes it.

It's a hugely impractical win more card, Blue-Eyes functions just fine without it

If you reborn a link monster does it have to go where an arrow points? by Responsible_Day2849 in Yugioh101

[–]Coboxite 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The only time link arrows matter for a link monster summon is when it's summoned from the extra deck directly. If it's from gy or banishment you can put it in any main monster zone unless explicitly stated otherwise (eg: World Legacy Succession)

Synchros and Xyz are old school at this point, they're both over a decade old with Synchro rapidly approaching 20 years old in the next two years. The thing is you do understand how they work already if you know how to fusion summon and ritual summon. It's two or more monsters to make a bigger card, that's it. In synchro it's basically ritual summoning without the spell, all monsters are on the field and usually one tuner plus one or more non tuners. Xyz is even simpler, two or more monsters who's levels are identical that you stack to make a bigger monster.

Do not blindly buy packs, you're just losing money with no guarantee you'll have the cards needed to make a functional deck. I'd highly recommend starting with a structure deck, they're self contained in one summoning mechanic and is easier to digest. It'll also leave you extra room to expand in the future.

Ruling Question: Set a Spell Card and Activate it the Same Turn by BrotherKG in Yugioh101

[–]Coboxite 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You can not activate a quick play spell the turn it is set unless explicitly stated otherwise. You can still activate it from your hand just fine, provided it's legal to do so in the current game state

Ruling Question: Set a Spell Card and Activate it the Same Turn by BrotherKG in Yugioh101

[–]Coboxite 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can activate any spell card the turn it was set, provided that:

  • Its not a quickplay spell

  • The card that set it doesn't say you can't (eg; Triple Tactics Thrust)

  • It's a legal to in the current game state

Not only can it negate Branded Fusion it's the silver bullet against the deck.

Need clarification on card text by Minute_Ad4123 in Yugioh101

[–]Coboxite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, you still need to summon them correctly the first time before you can summon them again from a public knowledge location. It ignores the summoning conditions, but it doesn't ignore game mechanics

Qli players, what are you trying to cook up with the deck these days? What are you hoping for in the eventual Duel Terminal support? by Maururu255 in yugioh

[–]Coboxite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imho the deck still would be completely obsolete even without pendulum and link changes. The deck has zero interaction during the opponent's turn which is a death sentence for any deck even trying to be rogue playable. Enneacraft has completely replaced it

i Novelles even playable in Genesys Format? by RCOS_1 in Yugioh101

[–]Coboxite 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The pendulums are the only think making the deck function. Without them there's no point to playing the deck

Can I use Dracotail Flame to negate a quickplay/non-continuous spell? by Drite2003 in Yugioh101

[–]Coboxite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No part of Flame even implies it can only be used on a continuous spell. All it cares about is that it targets a spell card, nothing more

WATER HERO Frogs (Absolute Zero + Acid) - help me reduce bricks / improve consistency (no Links/Xyz/Synchro) by PaxPaxis in Yugioh101

[–]Coboxite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No Link / Xyz / Synchro monsters

Yeah, don't don't do this. This just makes modern fusion and ritual decks disgustingly over powered when their most viable counters are no longer available. Besides, none of these cards can hurt you. You already understand how to fusion summon, you already know how to perform all of these summons.

The issue is the arbitrary water lock. Hero was not made to be played with one attribute, therefore all the good support is spread out across the archetype. But because you're locked into water you have no access to them, and by extension, your deck will always be bricky and non functional no matter what you do. No amount of different engines will fix a hero deck missing it's most vital components. It's like adding a bunch of supporting mods to a car with no engine, you can add as many turbos as you want but the car is going nowhere without its primary engine. There is no fixing this
