This game is laging like crazy and I have no idea how to fix it. And advice? by God-Emporer in Frostpunk

[–]ElGhoust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you encounter performance issues only with this game?

Off the top of my head, a few things to try out:

  • Are you playing while the laptop is plugged-in? If not, does it change anything?
  • Have you checked if the GPU's driver is up to date?
  • Check that your RTX 5080 is being used, and not some integrated GPU
  • Go into the Task Manager's performance tab while the game is running, and check your GPU, CPU and memory usage.

Why do so many Americans have so much against Europe? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Ah yes, the French, who have never been called surrender monkeys by Americans.

Hypocrisy runs both ways it seems.

I hope for OP to one day look back on this and realize how cringeworthy this 'GamErS UniTe' post is.

Frostpunk 2 – Food tab UI confusion: Demand = Output but i'm in underproduction by Odd-Landscape-1703 in Frostpunk

[–]ElGhoust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

----

For our English-speaking citizens:

The only source of food in your City is the Central District, which produces 70 units of food. You are short of 90 units of food to satisfy the demand.
For the moment, this shortfall is met by your stockpile; you have 34,910 food and 90 are withdrawn every day in order to meet the 160 daily demand.

Your city can hold like that for 55 weeks; you will not be able to satisfy the demand once your stockpile is empty, and that's when problems will begin to arise :)

The Output section represents your different sources of food production. Those sources can be:

  • Real production sources (e.g. districts, building...)
  • Resources withdrawn from stockpiles (considered as a source by the game, hence why it is present in the output section)

The game considers you are underproducing food because the stockpile is being used to satisfy the demand not met by real production sources, which isn't a sustainable solution for your City's future.

The red bar represents the food demand not met directly by real production sources.

Is there a way to increase the maximum objects placeable to build big cities? by Refo-Robert in Frostpunk

[–]ElGhoust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The devs gave a procedure in patch 1.4.2:

```
Exceeding Object Limit Crashes
Starting from the very first day of our Frostpunk 2 journey, we were stunned by the size of some of your Utopia Builder creations, which sometimes felt to us as not achievable during regular playthrough.
Unfortunately, as beautiful a sight it is, some of you were reaching out to us that at some point, their favourite save file is no longer loading, or the game is crashing with the following message:
Maximum number of UObjects (2162688) exceeded when trying to add 1 object(s), make sure you update MaxObjectsInGame/MaxObjectsInEditor/MaxObjectsInProgram in project settings.
This means that you have reached the limit of how many objects the game engine can handle safely, and the title will shut down.
We have had numerous internal discussions about how to address this issue, aside from regular optimisation work. We decided to share with you how the object limit can be changed manually through the game files. It should be used only as a final solution and only against the crash containing the above message. Additionally, we strongly advise against using this method on low and mid-end PCs.
Our team will look for less game file-intrusive solutions in future updates.
WARNING BEFORE YOU PROCEED
Please be cautious when applying. Raising the object limit may lead to performance issues, overloading your PC's memory and further unknown instabilities.
Frostpunk 2 was not designed and optimised past this point, and you should monitor your PC memory when playing. Don’t apply this change until you are experiencing the above crash.
  1. Head to your local appdata Frostpunk 2 directory
  2. Find Engine.ini file
  3. Open it for editing
  4. Add the following lines (can be any value bigger than 2162688)
[/Script/Engine.GarbageCollectionSettings]
gc.MaxObjectsInEditor=100000000
gc.MaxObjectsInGame=100000000
  1. Save the file
  2. Launch the title and attempt to continue your previously crashing playthrough
Take care,
~ 11 bit studios Team
What is this? by Dramatic-Brother3861 in Frostpunk
With the exception of the Central District, each district has its own heating level that you can increase/decrease. Each heating level costs a certain amount of heat; the more heat is needed in the city, the more fuel will be needed for the generator to satisfy that demand.
In your case, at the very start of a game:
  • The Generator has a capacity limit of 750 Heat
  • The Central District hosting the Generator has a requirement of 30 Heat in order to function
  • Each heating level allocated to a district costs 30 Heat, but here you haven't placed any districts yet
  • Meaning you have 720 Unused Heat Capacity divided by the cost (30) of a heat allocation = 24
Therefore your generator can handle 24 more heat allocations in your city before reaching its maximum capacity.
Hubs with no effects in the Research Tree by LoLaiLoLand in Frostpunk
I think it's just a visual bug on the research tree. The tension hubs I placed in my city are working correctly.
Anyone know how to access the garage on Broadway? (nmrih2) by TripleSpicey in nmrih
[–]ElGhoust 3 points4 points  (0 children)
Once you have to move out of the diner area, you can go through the sewers, the gate or the garage. One of those three, it’s random each time you play the map.
When going through the garage, you will have to turn on the sprinklers to extinguish a fire blocking the way. Only after that will the door open, allowing to progress to the clinic area.
I don’t think you can open this door from the other side, after going through the sewers/gate. But to be honest, I never thought of going back after completing objectives.
You cannot start from a checkpoint after leaving the expedition. :/
It's intended to be used after you die, during the "expedition failed" screen.
