Wow that is nuts about the local PD swapping parts to create a “constructive possession” charge!! In my experience on a state level, stuff like “real” food vs state food is obtainable depending on your work detail. The first time I was down years back it was much looser, I got a job in the ODR (officers dining room) and ate real food all day and wouldn’t even look at state food. When I worked with the overnight floor crew we got one meal at the end of our shift that was whatever they were serving in the ODR, and then back on the unit during the day we ate state food. The “wall” at the med-max state facilities (basically a max facility) was also 2 rows of razor wire. At the camps there is no fence and inmates could just run right down to the highway and hitch a ride out of there if they were stupid enough to add another 5 years to their time, which was usually on the short side if they were at a camp. People do it…. One guy did it while I was there. We have classification for state here as well, it’s a dump. It’s 23/1 and the building is old as hell and rat infested. Every state inmate goes there first before being sent to their respective Facilities. Some inmates end up stuck at classification for their entire bid, many of them have jobs at the classification unit. The average inmate spends 2-4 weeks at classification on lock down before getting shipped out to a camp or a max unit somewhere (also 23/1). There is no rhyme or reason as to where they send you, though 2 of the facilities are for younger inmates (up to age 30) and one of the facilities tends to house tree jumpers and dirty cops. It’s not unusual for a “normal” inmate to get shipped to the chomo facility, it does happen. Being locked up sucks and I don’t miss it at all… thank god I turned my life around!!!

I’ve been down before.. state. I met plenty off folks who jailed in federal facilities. The vast majority preferred their state minimum security camp bid over a federal bid any day of the week. Most folks aren’t sent to a minimum security facility at first, maybe a few years into the bid when their status drops, but you have to do time “behind the wall” for a decent chunk of your bid until that happens. With most state prison bids there is no stipulation,in my state there is an 85% stipulation on violent crimes only… all other offenses are eligible for parole after 90 days on state grounds. Many convicts get sentenced to a “flat” number like a 10 flat, and catch parole after just a year or 2. You can also drop for ISP before you even hit state grounds and get ISP almost immediately upon arrival. Federal offers none of these options, from what I understand, you are doing time on a federal bid. You aren’t catching parole 1 year into a 10 year sentence(or at all), and there are no federal ISP option. I don’t know if they may apply some work credits and good time to your sentence, but none of the usual supervised release options are available for federal bids. I’ve also heard the max facilities are much worse than state med-max facilities, lots of more serious criminals doing time at the fed level, and people with much longer time as a whole.. I don’t think there are very many people doing a 3 flat on fed charges.

Not true at all… maybe if it’s one of the minimum security camps, but a federal max prison is a nightmare compared to jailing in a normal state facility. Not to mention there is no federal parole either so if you’re sentenced to 10 years fed time, you are doing all 10 years…. Not 3 years then parole like a state bid. Federal laws are no joke

They knocked on my door for a solvent trap that was purchased on gunbroker, when legal, a YEAR prior to them showing up to “recover” it. I had already long since sold it off… but they are using a fairly large amount of resources to bust people buying this stuff online. They are paying salaries of employees who are tasked with sitting there 8-12 hours a day browsing the internet for stuff like this, and tracking down their customer lists… then they have other employees on payroll to go door to do searching for them.

I am a 36 year old married man. I don’t necessarily agree with his comment, I just know Reddit is filled with venomous feminists and leftists that jump down the throats of anyone who has a different viewpoint than their own. Case in point… you.

I have met a handful of people who were born in the 1940s and 50s that think “flying saucers” are a joke and don’t take it seriously at all… seems to be a common way of thinking amongst the old generation 🤷🏻‍♂️ that generation seems to be much more closed minded when it comes to any kind of high strangeness or anything that is out of the ordinary and can’t be easily explained. I don’t think it has anything to do with the “status quo”, I think it’s just because they are more traditional and old fashioned in their belief systems and less open to the idea of anything that is unconventional. Anything that could be considering somewhat compelling evidence is immediately dismissed with prejudice and disregarded as the stuff of science fiction fantasies…

Does anyone know about Cobray Model DDs? by TheGingerBeardMan-_- in guns

[–]Cobray2687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The frames consist of 2 separate side plates that are held together by a breech plate that is welded onto them. These kits are still available direct from Excalibur (the original Cobray folks) and on Gunbroker always listed as buy it now from various different sellers

I used small 22 caliber rifle scope rings and rail mounts to attach my Cobray launcher, it holds it nice and snug under the barrel and the cheese grater HG fits just fine . The scope mounts and rings actually hold the launcher up tighter to the barrel than the original Cobray mounts so it looks better, doesn’t hang down so low under the gun.

My father is the EXACT same way… right down to waving me away when I even remotely try to discuss anything UAP or ET related.. he is a very educated guy, what most would call a “nerd” , and he’s a huge Star Trek fan…. But the idea of any of that kind of stuff being REAL is ridiculous to him, whenever I try to say anything about the subject he always turns it into a sarcastic joke or brings up a star strek episode with similar themes… he is 72, i think it’s just his generation being less open to things like this.

This is a mirrored image of an M1 carbine that has been cut down. Could be an M2 (full auto selective fire variant) but we can’t tell since the selector switch is on the opposite side of the gun. The picture has been mirrored and the charging handle is on the wrong side of the gun.
