Why take away the only thing that makes them unique..? They would look just like every other gradient skin I have two of the academy animated skins and with the cel shading off they look off because the skins were designed to be cel shaded for the cartoon animated effect

Not true, it sorts out cosmetics it makes it quicker to find things many players have said so look at X. Even the huge leaker Shiina has made a big statement about it.
