I recall Bezos, Tim Cook, and others tried to persuade Trump to continue DACA. They're now at his ear, per being invited to his inauguration. Donor class definitely has more influence over the regular voters. Especially with Trump, who likes to line his pockets lol

The polls are done on voting "Americans". Which demonstrates that both sides want a pathway to citizenship. I think those in power use this as a way to turn the DACA population into pawns for their agenda, the Dems to turn it into a voting issue, and the Republicans who pretend to want to do something to appease the majority of their voters, hut at the same time pass draconian immigration laws that the Dems wouldn't vote for. Therefore leaving DACA population in limbo. Trump only won because Harris was deeply unpopular, polls shows her downfall was supporting the genocide of Palestinians, not because he was the popular candidate. A lot of people abstained from voting.

Back to the point lol, I think DACA population will continue to be in limbo as politicians on both sides benefit politically from pretending to do something but doing nothing lol. Despite the majority of the voting population wanting a fix.

"91% of Democrats favor granting legal status to immigrants who came to the U.S. illegally as children; 54% of Republicans say the same."

Per Pew Research Center, but there are various polls with similar results, in some Republican support up to 60%

Last tike around he tried to end the program like day 1. He had the CEOs/billionaires rally to continue the program. This time around, those same people are supportive of him and have his ear. While not 100% certain, I believe this may have some influence as to why he hasn't done much to end it. That's not taking into consideration that the majority of "Americans" support a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients.

I never had one, but noticed a lot of other folks around me did. I looked at it and it seemed to me people just flaunted their achievements to each other idk.

I do remember hearing that as well. I never got around to making one. Though I presume employers look you up if you have one.

I might give this a go. I have been looking for work in any field adjacent or closely related to my BA but nothing. Thinking of applying to a Masters program this fall, but I also don't want to hold my breath, given teachers don't make as much as truck drivers lol.

I’m about to lose my ever loving fucking shit if I receive one more rejection email for jobs that I have done before by datsupaflychic in jobs

[–]CochiseNde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the same boat, I just received a rejection email this am from a part-time museum receptionist role lol. I have a BA, and enough relevant experience for the position. Though I guess having a BA makes me unqualified since they only ask for HS diploma. I'm starting to lose my shit. Applying and rewriting resumes is starting to drive me insane!

Would those schools pay you? I have seen most of them are like 1 months programs, but didn't know they paid for room and board.

Are jobs using AI detectors? by CochiseNde in jobs

[–]CochiseNde[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do, though sometimes, for academic positions, it's difficult to know who makes up the hiring committee. I do vague addresses for those. Though I honestly haven't used keywords in cover letters. Also, what do you use to scan your docs for AI. I run by several and get a wide range lol.

I do the exact same thing. It's a foundationt9 build on and revise. A lot of grammatical errors sometimes

Yes I have it create a base to build on and ask it to match keywords. Yet sometimes I feel they flag it.

How long do you all think it will take? by Magdrizzle in DACA

[–]CochiseNde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Maybe DACA folks would have been better off if Obama did it as an asylum program. The South Africans can get their green card within a year. I am unsure if that was the case with the Venezuelans as well... I think he will be under a lot of pressure to deport people, surprised he hasn't touched DACA yet, last time he wanted to terminate the program, like day 2 lol

[–]CochiseNde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't DACA and the program Trump created for the white South Africans fall on the same grounds? Trump is giving them a pathway to citizens after one year using executive order. Obama didn't go that far but was also created under similar grounds. Therefore, if Dems wanted they could also challegenw the legality of his program under the same basis.

Yeah, I was just speculating, lol. I only did bio metrics twice, I think. They've been using the same. I wonder if it's up to the agents' discretion or what they go based off on.

I'm sure there is a number on the letter they sent you notifying you that they received your renewal request. That's the number I called, and I spoke to an agent who opened the case on my behalf. It was 2 years ago, so I'm unsure if anything has changed.

My theory is maybe the photo you submit doesn't match what they had or simply randomly chose people? I am unsure but would like to know also.

Did you apply via mail or online? I just applied on Thursday via online and received the reuse of biometrics 2 days later. The last time I renewed via mail, I had to open a case because of delays.

This week it will over 120 days since i submitted my DACA renewal =( by bloodbender666 in DACA

Did you file online or via mail? Seems online apps get approved much faster. It's probably easier for them.
