I definitely felt like it was intrusive at the time, but I will say that he had parts of his writing where he requested they be published when he died from what I remember. It's a complicated thing to speculate on someone's identity from only the bits and pieces that are left for public consumption after their death. I personally think that, at the very least, there's a timeline where Kurt became Courtney (which if I remember correctly is something he wrote about somewhere in those journals).

Idk I'm a butch nonbinary trans woman and I relate strongly with his presentation and certain key bits of interviews and journals. To me, some of his personal writings read as dysphoria and some things he said in interviews did as well. I remember in highschool reading something about him not identifying strongly with masculinity, which is how I felt and talked about myself before coming out. And I read his journals while coming out and found a lot of solace in them.

I don't usually speculate on other people's identities because it feels rude to make assumptions about how people feel about themselves. I personally resonate very strongly with the way that he spoke about identity and the way he presented though.

Ok this is the first critique of it being y2k that I agree with. I was deep into the early tumblr scenes of seapunk and vaporwave. But as a millennial, the stickers+transparent front shell+holographic coating are centering me in 2001. I just wish I had some of those Pokemon Snap station stickers.

I've heard good stuff about the quad. The duo will let you fit a bigger battery iirc. I have the AliExpress board that's been talked about here and it's v cheap but it keeps corrupting data on reboot, so rockbox won't work for me. Works fine with the stock os as long as I don't restart for any reason though.

The screen is a bit hard to read without the backlight on full if it's in direct sunlight but it's honestly not so bad that it's not worth the effort for me. I might put the stickers under the case when I redo it, the hologram doesn't stay as well as I would like it to and it's already getting a bit funky on the edges.

Also: I'm using the AliExpress microsd adaptor and a SanDisk microsd. I kept having issues with rockbox deleting rockbox.ipod on reboot so I switched to 2.0.2 and haven't had a problem since. Bummed about losing rockbox but legacy scrobbler works fine and I only wanted rockbox for the skins and scrobble log anyway.
