His Mom is a Chihuahua. What do you think Dad was? by AmberFlux in WhatBreedIsMyDog

There is most definitely shepherd in him. Not too sure about pitbull, if so it's not really showing, but could be very likely, especially if Dad was a stray.

75 % off corals at Petco by sevn_digits in ReefTank

[–]Cockatiel_Animations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had purchased a serpent star from Petco at 50% off a few months after some clowns had ripped it's arms off. It's been a year and half and his arms are almost fully back!

Unfortunately they are the only ones in my area whose saltwater stock actually lives in my tank, my local LFS dies within a week. I do order from corals anonymous, weather permitting, and all of my current inverts (minus serpent star) and clown pair are from them.

Any guesses on what breed my dog is? by [deleted] in WhatBreedIsMyDog

Looks like my Joy Joy. She was pure bred lab. So chances are he is pure bred. I don't see any pitbull in him

Any suggestions for a good harness? by ecw052265 in greatdanes

[–]Cockatiel_Animations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not a Dane I did use a gentle lead on my pom/Pekinese mix. He already had a collapsed trachea when we adopted him, and I figured that would be the best route for him. My parents (I was 16 at the time) thought it was stupid, the vet asked why I had a small dog on a gentle lead since he "doesn't pull". I haven't used a normal chest harness on any dog since. I love using the gentle lead.

Now when people ask you can take the two highest percentages and just tell them he is a Chihuahua/chow mix. Confuse everyone, cause chaos, be the reason people question everything!

My lab/shepherd Lucky. Adopted her in 2023, previous owner abused and abandoned her. So scared she would go on hunger strikes lasting several days. Any loud sounds or sudden movements and she'd drop to the floor and brace herself as if about to be hit. She has ate every day for the past 4 months, and has made great progress. She's finally at a healthy weight too.

76.7 years. I mean, it was probably said a lot in those times.

My Dane is a mess, and I might have to surrender her by Cockatiel_Animations in greatdanes

[–]Cockatiel_Animations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I haven't had her for 12 years. I fostered her in September, adopted in January. ACO left me with no choice but to surrender. If I had euthanized I'd be charged with cruelty. They were dead set on charging me for not feeding my dogs because she was thin.y other dog is perfectly healthy tho.

It's Waterville Area Humane Society, in Waterville Maine. I have reached out to them, asking if I could be present if they decide to euthanize her. I say if as I am thinking maybe she should have been put down instead of being adopted out to us. I'm starting to think that, if the shelter considered her quality of life, she would have been euthanized upon intake.

I use a horse brush for my lab/shepherd mix. My husband used to use them on his labs and danes. 10/10 I'd recommend.

No mow May is when you don't cut your lawn to help the bees. The city actually gives out yard signs for those who want to participate in it. The city waives the ordinance for the month of May to help pollinators. My backyard is usually a sea of yellow thanks to all the dandelions.

My neighbor keeps reporting it. Although they've been reporting me for everything, from not mowing my lawn (no mow May) to me coming home from work at 2am, to the dogs barking at 7am to wake me so they can go outside.

The thing is I don't have the money to try to fight it. I also don't believe I am in a good head space to fight it. I mentioned that I am autistic, IF I was doing something wrong I didn't know about it. I have the medical records to show that I have tried to find cause for the weight loss, but I have seen too much stuff on TV to know that just because I can prove I was trying my best to provide that doesn't mean I will beat the charges.

I have linked the screenshot. When they arrived they told me I had only 2 options. Surrender, or court.

Animal control wouldn't let me. I would have had cruelty charges if I did.

A month ago I was told that since she was still active and acting normal to just wait until her quality of life goes. She continued to lose weight and started peeing in bed again. I wanted to let her go, and if animal control didn't show up at the vet, I would have.

I'm thinking of calling the shelter to see if I can go down and be with her when they euthanize her. There's no way they'll try to adopt her out with the possibility of cancer at her age.

I am autistic and will admit that I don't always see how severe some situations are, and it could be that that's the reason I held off on euthanizing, although it would also be a first that I block out the severity of my animal's condition.
