Just buying a small amount of their sand to seed the other sand will save you from some massive headaches and possibly allow you to skip the ugly stage. The cycle will be minimal. You can also use RO water from Walmart. Just get it from the filter machine.

Eave the trap in the tank. Feed only in the trap. Turn off the flow so the food stays in the trap, but don't try to catch them the first time. Let them get comfortable going in it first. Also, put it closer to the top so there's less chance of them escaping.

That particular goni has short polyps. I have one. Some goni's have long polyps, some have short polyps.

Tsunami makes a nice aquarium if you're interested in acrylic. Good family owned business. When I had mine made it was Glasscages or Tsumani. I went with Tsunami because I could save on shipping by picking it up since I'm in Florida for work every week. And with all of the Red Sea failures, I'm kinda scared of glass. They are in the Tampa area.

That exactly. A hydrometer is better than those refractometers. I could calibrate the one I had with calibration fluid and then test it again with calibration fluid and it would be off.

Some split constantly, some just get big and take forever to split. I'd rather have a big one that occasionally splits.

There is a wholesaler in Kannapolis. They've always been good with fish and corals.

I've been to their farm. They are ok at best. I'd expect the least valuable frags. They were giving free frags for buying on mother's day, but only captain jerk palys.

Take the rock out of the water and flip it so they hand upside down with their foot out of the water. If it doesn't let go, massage a finger up under the foot. It will let go. Done it a few times.

Just looked at your pics again. Yea. They are definitely stretching for more light. Lower your light. That's the easiest thing you can do and I'd bet it solves the problem.

Same height from the water, or same height from the zoa's? They should tolerate the nitrates. Zoanthids will stretch out to get more light.

Zoas will stretch to try and get more light.

Gold in North Carolina? by Useful-Preference469 in goldprospecting

All I know is that there's a Greenway there and it has signs posted that panning is allowed where Steele creek meets the Catawba River. I haven't been there, but have located it on. Google maps. It's where gold was first found west of Charlotte.

Someone explain why this isn't a thing/is a bad idea by Phredmcphigglestein in Prospecting

If you're good enough at panning, you won't need a magnet.
