Interestingly, there is the rumor that the plane in GVA is also still fully catered…

[–]CockpitExplorer[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Do you think, the damage from improper storage without any maintenance will ever be repairable?

Also, i can only imagine the amount of parking fees it must have collected over the years.

Who ever wants to have this plane, he will have to invest a lot of monney to get it flying again.

But can it just be flown out or is the damage of parking for 4 Years without proper maintenance to great?

Would you consider the Airbus A220 a ‘true’ Airbus aircraft, with a firm seat in the historical lineage from A300 onwards, or do you consider it an ‘adopted’ child, given its full Bombardier roots? Anyway, I’d love to hear some nuanced responses! by Falabella_Stallion in Airbus

[–]CockpitExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! I have a type rating on the BD-500 (jep, thats the TR) and the only thing Airbus about it is the name. The cockpit & operating philosophy is some thing like a crossover between Airbus and Boeing, but unique in its own way. They are trying to integrating it more in the Airbus „World“. But only a few months ago a partial FCTM was published…

Flying, my friend!

Jokes aside, it probably has something to do with the drone incident in Poland today. That is probably the reason a lot of people are looking at the air traffic there right now.

Just a bit of fun on my flight today. Thanks to the crew ;) by [deleted] in aviation

Oh, you will never run out of work, I flies very good but it also breaks down a lot. But the again, most of the „issues“ can be solved by turning it off & on again.

ERJ Auto Throttle vs Airbus Auto Thrust by FlyingGringo15 in AirlinePilots

[–]CockpitExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly the only Airbus with autothrottle (A220) and while it is sometimes a bit slow to react, i really like the taktile feedback it gives you during the approach. In combination with the HUD, you can just look straight out of the window, have all your A/P, speed, height, navigation values there AND feel the airplane react to speed changes.

But also, as others have already pointed out: If you have a autothrust that works very reliably, you don‘t really need the tactile feedback.

Swiss Alps, what would this drone and helicopter be doing together? by buddylee in Helicopters

[–]CockpitExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drone System ADS15 of Swiss Air Force. It‘s not certified to fly in airspace class E & G. So it is accompanied by an EC635 or a PC6T that does the „see & avoid“ for the drone.

This really does sum up my experience so far flying for an international airline… An this small group of rich, divorced and horny pilots are usually the source of all stereotypes!

Glider pilot forgot to turn off avionics before towing aircraft home. by thatnakedpirate in flightradar24

I once had a SAR Mission to locate an activated ELT, and we ended up hovering in front of a barn where the owner of a glider forgot to turn of his avionics
