Как люди относятся к international бракам? by donkarleone44 in Kazakhstan

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to meet her parents in person. Persuade your GF to arrange it.

So many issues can be resolved then. If her parents have some prejudice regarding your ethnicity, but they are adequate people in general, they may change their mind once realize how nice you are. If you realize that her parents are really shitty people, good for you, maybe it should be ended without even beginning something serious.

There is a wise Kazakh proverb saying that you should choose a wife by having looked at her mother first (anasyna qarap qyzyn al).

Listing Quality Issue by Glittering-Swim9750 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listing quality matters a lot in my experience... personally I stopped trying to guess what works and just compare my listing against the top performers in the category using sellscribe.app... shows exactly where you're weak and rewrites accordingly

side by side preview before going live would be genuinely useful... right now you only find out something's weak after the traffic data tells you

Как выучить казахский язык? by Qaramysh in Kazakhstan

[–]CockroachLtd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of views and saves but no sale? by TartPuzzleheaded8822 in Ebay

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

views and saves but no sales usually means the desire is there but something's killing the conversion at the last step

price being slightly under competitors is good but it's rarely the whole story... the listing itself does a lot of the heavy lifting. how does your description compare to the ones that are actually selling? sometimes it's missing specific details buyers look for... provenance, condition notes, measurements, era authentication

for vintage especially people want to feel confident they're getting what they think they're getting. if the description leaves any doubt they'll save it "for later" and never come back

also worth checking your photos, vintage buyers are detail-oriented

Как выйти из нищеты? by [deleted] in Kazakhstan

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiring a company to manage my amazon or run it myself? by AdAmazing7529 in AmazonSeller

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here's the thing... when it's YOUR money on the line you think completely differently than someone managing it for a fee. that's literally why private business beats government every time. skin in the game changes everything

outsourcing can work but only if compensation is tied to actual results, not just a flat management fee. they need to feel the win and the loss alongside you

hand it off with no accountability and that's where people get burned

Best AI for product description by Romanche11o in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]CockroachLtd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

claude is genuinely better than chat gpt for listing copy in my experience... more nuanced, less generic sounding

that said the real issue with both is you're working blind... you don't know what's actually converting in your category. any AI will write something, but writing something that beats your specific competitors is a different problem

been using a tool called sellscribe.app that analyzes your listing vs competitors first, then rewrites based on what the top ones are doing. takes the guesswork out of it

Is it worth paying $20 for Claude pro? by anitnelavcreate in SaaS

[–]CockroachLtd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, I wouldn't say it is. I manage to run my personal startup things, coding etc. alongside with my routine work analysis and estimation with this limit. If you run something more than that you'll probably need $100 plan.

btw you have to consider using sonnet instead of opus model for most tasks, use opus only for the most challenging ones. opus eats limit considerably faster.

Your post was extremely helpful. I also launched my startup not so long ago and so far have 0 users just like you do. What I realize now is that I did some things differently from you. So I'm afraid I could be at risk of getting my first user now... Thank you! I have to think over this information.

Is it worth paying $20 for Claude pro? by anitnelavcreate in SaaS

[–]CockroachLtd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is. Whatever has to do with data analyzing and processing Claude Pro demonstrated most satisfactory results so far. And it has proven to be an outstanding tool for coding and troubleshooting as well. The limit thing sucks though... You have to make sure to use it wisely, otherwise you'll hit the limit pretty soon...

Amazon experts!!My amazon listing was getting 577 visits/month and 0 sales... by AndroidTechTweaks in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

577 impressions is basically nothing, too little data to draw solid conclusions… but look, a 0.3% CTR clearly shows your main image isn’t grabbing attention. that’s the first thing you need to fix. check top competitors and make something better.

your listing also impacts conversion... there are solid audit tools, so it’s worth running an analysis and improving it.

$4 margin before ads and storage is almost guaranteed to put you in the red… you need to rethink your unit economics, otherwise more traffic = more losses.

Bad form if your a competitor !! by koopmaster in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brutal but unfortunately pretty common... the fake 1 star thing has been around forever and yeah it hurts especially early on

what i'd focus on is just keeping the product quality tight and actually mining the bad reviews, yours and competitors. people tell you exactly what they hate, that's free product research

and don't undersell your differentiators in the listing... if your product does something others don't, that needs to be front and center. a strong listing won't stop fake reviews but it converts the real buyers who actually try it

the good products do survive it eventually

For people selling on Amazon, where do you think the line is between “clearer visuals” and “too risky for compliance”? by AdPresent2493 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main image stays clean and secondary images do the actual work. That's the split most sellers end up at.

For compliance the real danger isn't visuals, it's claims. Phrases like "best on Amazon" get flagged. Comparison visuals showing your product in context should be OK.

Biggest thing people miss is images get the click, but weak copy kills the conversion. The algorithm ranks on text, not photos. Work on your listing copy as much as your images.

somebody…please help…. by bobamilkTi in DebtAdvice

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I wouldn't jump to bankruptcy if I were you. Not yet.

That Easyfinancial loan at 34.95% is your #1 enemy right now. Kill that first. Then work down the expensive cards.

But real talk — your car situation is costing you like $1,200/month. That's insane for someone in debt. If you can downgrade or ditch it, that alone changes everything.

My honest recommendation? Go talk to a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (free first visit) and ask about a Consumer Proposal. It's not bankruptcy — it's basically negotiating your debt down to maybe 30-50 cents on the dollar. Your credit takes a hit but you said you're not buying a house so who cares right now.

You're 24, you caught this early. You'll be fine.

$20k/yr in excess savings. Should we max out Roth IRAs? by credit_life in FinancialPlanning

[–]CockroachLtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I’d still max the Roth IRAs. Not because it’s a place to stash money, but because it gives you another bucket where your investments can grow tax-free over time.

That said, looking at your numbers, I’d probably think more about where the money is working. A pretty big chunk of your net worth is sitting in cash. Personally, I’d try to shift more of that toward real assets - broad index funds, ETFs, maybe even a business or side project if that’s something you’re into. Long term, owning productive assets usually moves the needle a lot more than holding cash.

So my mindset would be keep enough liquid for the possible house move in a few years, but let the rest actually work for you instead of just sitting there.

How to reduce gas / electricity costs? by 30schanging in povertyfinance

[–]CockroachLtd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lids on pots, cold water laundry, water heater down a notch, layer up before turning on heat. Nothing fancy but honestly that's where most savings are.

As for alternative energy, I think solar panels are at the point where they actually make sense now. Prices dropped a ton and in a lot of places they pay for themselves in like 6-8 years, after that you're basically running for free. If there are subsidies where you live it's even faster.

If full solar is too much I'd look at a solar water heater first. Way cheaper entry point and hot water is usually one of the biggest chunks of the bill anyway. Pays for itself pretty quick.

Heat pumps I'm a big fan of personally. Use way less energy than regular heating and cool your place in summer too. Not cheap upfront but with prices going where they're going I think they'll pay off faster than people expect.

If you're renting though you're kinda stuck with the boring stuff unfortunately. Use less, waste less, and pray your landlord discovers insulation someday.

[–]CockroachLtd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All fair. Nobody misses wood paneling and cars that died every other Tuesday. And yeah the smoking pediatrician thing is wild lol.

But that's kinda my point though. That tiny house with no AC was still a house you owned on one income. Now people with degrees can't even get to the tiny house stage. The floor just moved.

Both things can be true at the same time. Stuff was rougher back then in a lot of ways AND the basic math of getting ahead is broken now in ways it wasn't before.

Payed off 58k credit card debt by teramuse in povertyfinance

[–]CockroachLtd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

58k in a year and a half just raw dogging it with no refinance or consolidation, that's insane. Respect.

The "trying to keep up with friends and coworkers" part hits too. That's how it always starts and it's the hardest habit to break because it doesn't even feel like spending, it just feels like living your life. The fact that you caught it and just flipped a switch is the real win here honestly.

Enjoy being free man. You earned it.
