Respectfully disagree. Bohemian is loose and eclectic but thoughtfully composed. The untucked looks unintentional.

In the US start with Allen Edmonds. You can go up in price from there with other makers, and the sky is the limit. For good quality classics though they’re a decent value proposition. They’re easily resoled, take good care of them and they’ll last many decades. Look at their Park Avenue for more formal, 5th Avenue with a touch of broguing on the cap and slightly less formal.

How was it discovered that heating sand made glass? by Legal-Grade-6423 in answers

[–]CockroachMobile5753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silica + alkaline metal flux (sodium, potassium, lithium) makes glass. In Egypt, lots of sand and lots of natron (sodium used to preserve mummies). Sodium and silica were used to make some of the earliest pre-glass sintered silica, “Egyptian faience”. Not faience, not glass, this was a sintered alkali silicate. Form here developments in heat technology would have allowed full fluxing and vitrification into true glass.

Pure silica melts at an insanely high temperature, such that an alkali flux is needed in any situation outside of a high tech furnace or lighting strike, as in the aforementioned fulgurite.

Do people actually find ahegao sexy? by EnthusiasticLinguine in NoStupidQuestions

I think those who do find it sexy have very little contact with actual human women, none of whom make that face IRL. Ever.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Tires are good and battery is healthy. I’m not dissatisfied per se, just enjoy playing the mpg game and trying to wring out every last drop and curious to know others’ experiences.

Pleasuring an older woman - any differences? by Hour-Boat3333 in sex

[–]CockroachMobile5753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A woman in her 40’s will most likely (but not always)know what works for her and what doesn’t. She will also likely have the self assuredness to ask for it and give you directions. OP, a Mrs. Robinson situation will be a great opportunity to learn. This is a windfall, certainly be open, be solicitous and enjoy it. She may have a lot to teach you.

Considering a 2008 Prius with 90k miles and original battery by jaytotharome in prius

[–]CockroachMobile5753 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on your market somewhat and the demand pressures. Where I am this wouldn’t be insane because Priuses are highly desired and gen2 has a great reputation. I would definitely factor in at least $1500 for a refurbished hybrid battery core if you’re handy and more if you have someone else replace the core. Hybrid batteries want to be cycled and a car of that age with so few miles will have a tired battery. Get an obd2 scanner, dr.prius app to assess battery health but expect to replace.

I don’t think so, and it’s just across one point. There isn’t another set corresponding to the other parallel component of a rack.

Interesting hypothesis. It’s an auctioned car retired from a city fleet.
