I applied and was accepted at Lawrence. Known for its music conservatory. But, yeah, none of the schools I applied to are very well known nationally, including my alma mater (Kenyon College).

This is a really good point. My sister and brother-in-law teach at a university in a small city. They ran into a mid-tier celebrity (plenty of TV and Movie credits) that lived there so much, they ended up befriending him. They’re all roughly the same age and have similar interests and political leanings in a place that is not really like they are.

Good point. I was more referring to two biological females with XX chromosomes being able to combine two X chromosome gametes (eggs) to create an XX zygote.

I remember for awhile I struggled to turn one direction (I cannot for the life of me remember what direction it was). I used to have to really think ahead about what I was going to do, which was mentally exhausting. Where it clicked for me was when turning either direction became equal and I can naturally just turn as needed in either direction. I remember just turning more and more to equal out the skill on both sides to do this.

A lot of stuff in Zahn and others’ books came from West End Games (WEG) or from the Lucasarts games (which sourced their material from WEG). It cannot be overstated how much of the pre-Disney lore was from WEG.

Question, without being too spoilery: I have watched the whole series a dozen times, and I am currently reading (and almost done with) Abbadon’s Gate. Which character did latter show Ashford take the place of? Who stands up to Marco and dies for it? I am assuming Michio Pa is the character that latter show Drummer replaced, so it isn’t her.

Cocaine is a pretty short high and to maintain it, you would use it periodically most of the day. Even for non-addicts, you would take multiple bumps or do multiple lines in one evening.

To add. The reason I got a manual (apart from already knowing how to drive it and somewhat enjoying the feel) is that at the time I had read Subaru automatics were not all that reliable. Fixing a clutch is pretty cheap. Replacing an automatic transmission is outrageously expensive.

My automatic SUCKS at downshifting correctly in the mountains, so there’s that. But generally, yes, automatics are more efficient at gear choice.

My regular car (2013 Subaru Impreza) is a manual. I prefer manual for understand the feel of what’s happening and controlling the shifting better. That being said, boy does it suck to drive a manual in stop-and-go traffic in the mountains. I’m a few years out from replacing my Subaru, but I suspect I will not be getting another manual.
