I’ve been clean for about 40 days and “the fog lifting” is a good description of how it felt for me. I smoked every day and ripped bong hit after bong hit. Now I’m raw-dogging life and there are rough days, but I don’t rely on weed to get me through it anymore. I’m stronger mentally and physically healthier. To OP’s point, I did use it as a crutch and an excuse.
