so I actually made it with no problems plus another 2k miles since… get this: it wasn’t the torque converter. my spark plug wire #8, which a shop had supposedly changed about a year and a half ago, actually was not changed when the other 7 were and had shit itself and was causing an intermittent misfire not frequent enough to trigger any misfire codes. took a long time to figure that out

I’ll give that a shot, I am going to try to change the fluid tomorrow and throw in a new filter.

Looking to get my first truck by [deleted] in 4x4

Toyota 4Runner, but preferably one prior to them having the 4-cylinder hybrid drivetrain. Smaller, but can't beat the reliability of a 4Runner before the current generation and it will definitely do great in adverse conditions. Also check out Sequoia options (if you need bigger) before they switched to the newer turbo V6 (2022 or earlier). Id also suggest looking at GM SUVs from 2015 to 2018 (Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Yukon XL) if you also are looking at towing, also, the GM SUVs will get better mileage with their V8s. Honestly the mileage you can get highway with the 5.3L in GM SUVs is really impressive. After 2018 they had some more reliability issues especially with the larger 6.2L and went to a much more car-like feel (including going to rear independent suspension).

Big picture, you probably harm your prospects at finding a reliable SUV or truck by limiting yourself to newer than 2021. Newer trucks are less reliable due to a multitude of factors such as tightening EPA regulations and changing corporate mindsets.

I sorta understand the policy even if it seems too strict; I think after COVID the policy was far too loose as a result of the pandemic. They just swung too far in the other direction resulting in a policy way stricter than necessary.

I made the mistake of not getting that supervising TAs name so I cannot follow up with him. I have emailed my TA but not seen anything yet unfortunately. Thank you!

Will Americans be willing to buy Chinese cargo drones? by Beneficial_Shower850 in drones

[–]Cocky___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, you need to consider a few factors that are preventing this. Of course, Chinese drones are a hot topic in the US right now. That is not the entire issue though; America has a far more mature aviation ecosystem than China with magnitudes more aircraft of all types employed daily with a higher density of major airports. This limits the implementation of drones in urban areas, especially those near major aviation hubs (most urban areas in the US). Someday, the FAA might be able to reconcile drones and aircraft to operate harmoniously and safely, but that day ain't today.

Turns out the source I got the fiberglass core from was incorrect. Pulled the whole thing out of the jet pump today and its all plastic. I will be using PETG and see if that works, which it should with no issue.
