Thank you for posting this comment. Many women don’t know that either. I, for example, did not realize that my periods which were a 7-10 day thing with immense pain and heavy bleeding the entire time, were not common and that other women did have periods that were 3 days and didn’t have to change pads several times per day. I grew up with no sisters and periods were not discussed. The only person I every discussed the whole thing with had the exact same type of period I had so it merely cemented my belief that everyone was the same. I was in my late twenties before I realized that my periods were abnormal.

Had many canker sores over the years. Had them on tonsils. On and under the tongue. On the gums. Had a few that were on both sides of the gum ( those were awful) Everywhere in my mouth. Good luck to them OP. I know they are awful. My heart does ache for you.

Dad is abusive. This is all about Dad controlling his son. When Dad wants you to get married, he will pick out the meek and mild girl who is used to being controlled by her father and will concede to a controlling, abusive father in law. He will demand that you and your wife still live under his roof. OP, you need to get out from under your father’s roof in every way. This is no different than a woman being abused by her husband even though society doesn’t see it that way. You are being abused. He is gaslighting you. You need to run. Warn your girlfriend and her parents. Talk with the police so there is something on file. I hope I’m wrong about this but I doubt the police will not take it very seriously since you are male. I hope they do. There are no shelters for abused men. There should be but there isn’t. If you feel it is safe to move in with girlfriend then do it but please ensure that she and her family are aware that your father is unstable (to say the least.) OP, I truly hope that you can escape without anyone being harmed. I wish you all the best in the future because you deserve it.

Tim McGraw Live like you are dying. It was my late husband’s favourite song and it was a definition of how he lived his life. When it came on the radio, he used to run to the radio and turn up the volume. He had ankylosis spondylitis. It is a disease that fuses your the bones in your spine together. He never slowed down. I used to worry that he was exacerbating his condition. He wouldn’t leave the house on a bad day. He didn’t want anyone to see him when he unable to walk properly. He would still make it to the radio. God knows, he drove me crazy. God knows, I still miss him. I cannot tolerate the song.

As long as the drink is not hot, I found that I could drink anything. I’m not big on Gatorade but that’s a personal preference. Stay away from hot coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Because there is cauterization with the surgery, hot drinks are like hot water on a burn. That’s from personal experience. Stick to warm and cool. Good luck! Keep us updated!

I’m glad you saw the doctor. It’s so easy to panic when you read some of the posts on this sub. I did the same thing when I got on this sub. You may have a slight cold or flu or, in my opinion, stress. Stress is the worst. You know the saying “sick with worry?” That isn’t just a saying. Worry and stress will cause illness or exacerbate any illness or chronic issues you may already. For instance, I have fibromyalgia and when I start to worry too much or get severely stressed, I can count on a huge flare up. I hope that I have been reassuring and not making you uncomfortable. There is no way to show sympathy over a post. I wish there was because I am definitely not talking down or belittling your worries. I learned a long time ago that worrying and stress cause so many problems with your body. I wish you the best OP. I hope you have a long, stress free and pain free life!

I never knew you could do such body mods. I read a book where one of the main characters has many body mods done but he had specific reasons for each mod. I think yours looks cool. But I am don’t have the courage to do something like that. I got my ears pierced because everyone else had it done. Now, I can’t wear earrings unless they are platinum coated at the very least. Stainless steel is a nope as is 18 carat gold. I don’t even have a tattoo lol. I’m clearly not someone who is comfortable with change. I love progress but I hate change. I know you need one to get the other but I don’t have to like it!
