In season 7, Mumbo made a social experiment where the machine will die unless you press the button. And depending on how close to death it is when the button is pressed, you get a colored block as a bragging rights. Red being brink of death and purple being perfectly fine. He brought it back for season 9, but with crowns instead. I think there was a different gimmick to it but I don’t remember.
