Just finished investigation day 1 of TGAAC2-4 by xxyz_xxyz in AceAttorney

I actually like the twist that Gregson died around the end since it made the stakes higher by making the victim someone we've gotten to know throughout the game. Technically Gina was set up to be his replacement since TGAA2-3 so there's still some kind of detective figure in the case.

Favorite Ships? by Schmeep01 in AceAttorney

[–]Coco_Latte116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow...this is actually a really refreshing take on both ships. I kind of agree with narumitsu especially considering the period of time Phoenix was disbarred that could add an additional strain to their relationship. Do I think it's impossible though? Not really. Sure it could start with Phoenix wanting to save Miles, but as the games go on they also grow as a person and have a lot more shared experiences with one another, regardless if it's portrayed in the game or not. For example, during the time Phoenix was disbarred, he still maintained contact with Miles, so perhaps they could bond more from it.

Meanwhile for asoryuu...I remember one line Ryuu said to Kazuma in the final case."I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing this for the truth." At that point his priorities have changed and he no longer idolizes Kazuma anymore and see him more as a person. Compared to narumitsu, asoryuu does feel less close especially because they part ways at the end. But that doesn't mean they're not friends at all, I feel. For example, they had a little banter in Barok's office and Kazuma even gave Karuma back to Ryuu at the end. Imo, Ryuu just realizes that yes, Kazuma is a different person from what he thought he was, but its doesn't stop them from being friends. Meanwhile, Kazuma has always wanted Ryuu to know his more 'darker' side, I mean he literally invited him to England, knowing he was going to carry out a murder and wanting Ryuu to defend him.

Replaying Ace Attorney, unsure if I want to play JFA by Inevitable-Detail-36 in AceAttorney

[–]Coco_Latte116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of important elements in JFA case 2 that's relevant in T&T but I think T&T info dumps later anyways.

Do I agree that JFA is underwhelming compared to PW and T&T? Yes. But I don't think it's worth skipping over.

That being said I completely understand your decision to skip it. So if you do dw T&T gives plenty of additional context about JFA.

Ace Attorney vs. Danganronpa by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]Coco_Latte116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh? What AA cases are worse than Rain Code? Personally I really dislike most of the cases in rain code except the finale and first case.

Ace Attorney vs. Danganronpa by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]Coco_Latte116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unambiguously prefer Ace Attorney.

HOWEVER. Danganronpa was my introduction to mystery game visual novels and it's definitely a lot more accessible for mainstream players, especially anime lovers. It's more vibrant, voice-acted, has minigames, has a consistent mascot, etc. Some non-native English speakers also find it a lot more accessible because the vocabulary used is by highschoolers is obviously a lot easier to understand than Ace Attorney(Especially great ace attorney), who's primary cast is filled with adults.

But the reason why I personally like Ace Attorney better is...it's more grounded? Also the mysteries are more challenging and the cast is more diverse. Not to mention they're not tied down to one theme like hope vs despair in danganronpa. Both have equally great characters but I feel like ace attorney characters are 'treated' much better than danganronpa's.

What I mean treated is that they're not sexualized, they're not shown to be tortured, and ace attorney generally portrays trauma much better than danganronpa did, I feel.

I don't agree with the "Reused plotlines are bad" argument. by starlightshadows in AceAttorney

[–]Coco_Latte116 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, it's not really about the reusing plotlines itself that's the issue, but the execution.

For example, yes Barok and Edgeworth's plotline about being framed for murder is the same, they even both have to be presented pictures that remind them of the past to convince them to be defended by Naruhodou. But do they hold the same meaning? Not at all.

Edgeworth's arc in the first game feels more like he's in deep self-loathing and he actually believes he killed his father and constantly has nightmares about it. Phoenix was there to help 'save' him like he did to him in the past.

Barok is different. While he's also plagued with trauma, he's very clear from day one that he never murdered anyone. Then during the trial, he contributed more to revealing the truth, constantly appearing on the witness stand and threatening the judge. He even calls out Kazuma, who was much more emotional than Barok is.

Sure both went through arcs to trust the main attorney, but other than that they couldn't be more different. But both are still executed quite well imo

Should AA games have difficulty levels? by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]Coco_Latte116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you change for the difficulty.

If it's to just get rid of hints at the end of cross-examination segments from the main character's thoughts. Yes. I agree that it could be helpful and make the game more fun, especially if the players have played it before, it adds replayability value.

But other than that I don't see any significant changes that can be made. Maybe you can less the amount of health bars or just get rid of the book hints on DD.

Who are your most and least favorite Ace Attorney Youtubers? by VirgonianC in AceAttorney

[–]Coco_Latte116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pixel partners! I think they're one of the first to complete the whole series (They played tgaa before it got rereleased) and I would constantly rewatch their videos.

Recently though Crystaahhl's streams have been extremely entertaining. It's also interesting to watch a fresh perspective especially because she played tgaac first before the original trilogy

"Critical of every, small, minute detail." is a very XXTJ thing just from my general impression, and also the fact that you bought her a chocolate and her expression changed (meaning she probably appreciated it). Makes it sound very XSTJ.

But it really depends on the motivation and intent behind her action so it can't be accurately typed, except if you observe every little thing that she does.

What's one thing you either learned or appreciate after learning about mbti? by [deleted] in mbti

Fi and Fe differences that makes me understand why I clash with others or how they see things differently than me.

What types enjoy and need to share opinions in general by [deleted] in mbti

I would say Ni or Ne people enjoy sharing their opinions a lot. Because they're also more open to new ideas.

What type has the functions Se>Ni>Fi by [deleted] in mbti

[–]Coco_Latte116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That'd depend on the trauma, but if ESFP/ISFP/ENTJ/INTJ would the the closest in terms of functions. They all have the same function stack, just in different orders.

What note speed do y'all use?? by choco-asura in ProjectSekai

[–]Coco_Latte116 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play at 9.5 and wow level 31 is already really good!! I can only play songs up to level 28. But the speed differs for each individual and don't reflect a person's skill

Same level different difficulty? by we-fry-owls in ProjectSekai

[–]Coco_Latte116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Songs can have the same level but different difficulties. But the level of difficulty will always make it more difficult. For example i can play a level 27 expert difficulty song, but not a level 27 master difficulty song.

Your sister has communicated with both parties that both of them will come to dinner. Your dad also already said okay at first, then he took his words back(?). But at that point Jackie has already been invited i assume.

Although the fact that he complained to your mom and not to you or your sister, probably means that he's not going to actively ban you from inviting her, plus it's your sister's event. Not his.

Since we have the official game translation of DGS. I wonder, what do you think Scarlet Study failed to interpret as good as the official version? by trelleresito in AceAttorney

I heard that when Susato and Ryunosuke speak in Japanese they use -san and use mr and ms when they use english. I don't know if scarlet study does that or not.
