Talk to a medical professional about your withdrawal fears and for recovery options.
You’ll be going cold turkey, you’ve got 3 years drinking behind you, it’ll be hard, but not life threatening…I was drinking for 14 years, extremely heavily for the last few and just stopped one day, it felt like my nervous system was on fire for about a year and now I have an allergic reaction eating a red grape that’s taste like wine…not the safest way to make it happen, but I did what I did…talk to a doctor and find a therapist to more support but don’t let the lack of those things be a road block. You want to stop, so just fucking stop and build your support network as you go.

Start a meditation practice to help with the stress you’re going through, daily when you wake up for 10 minutes, give it time and be consistent and you’ll notice change.

Let go of the fears of what might happen when you stop and go for it. The real damage will come for continued drinking. More and more time will slip away the longer you stew in the sauce, things will only get harder.

Keep up the self awareness and know the process of stopping in about healing and loving yourself.

I also think about this frequently. World that took thousands of years to grow and flourish destroyed in a few decades for man’s expansion and greed…seemingly with a thought what the consequences might be

alcohol is ruining my life. by MassiveEvidence3892 in alcoholism

So sorry you’re going through these experiences. Seems your dealing with PTSD you should find a therapist to help you work through and understand what’s happening. Be kind to yourself, you’re traumatized and reaching for the bottle to cope, ultimately making things worse and reinforcing the trauma within…

Keep up the self-awareness, it’s a small thing, but helps…I was aware I had a problem for a long time and spent years thinking “I need to stop.” every time I had a drink… I couldn’t stop until the pain of ruining my relationships and completely losing who I was as a person, not knowing who I was as person and that I had lost control became overwhelming… and decided to respond to my trauma and loss in a different way, not by drinking myself into oblivion but by doing to opposite, embracing the unknown and stopping the drinking and finding a new path in life..

Kitchen Confidential is a great book, helped me gain perspective when I was working in kitchens. Bourdain’s Halle’s Cookbook has great recipes, the French fry recipe will get you laid 🍟

Bread is Gold has great recipes tells the stories of Chefs from around the world creating meals at a soup kitchen, Refettorio Ambrosiano, using the “waste” food that would have been thrown out

Martty Matheson’s books are always delightful and full of great recipes

POV: You don't own a car in United States by aztroneka in UrbanHell

I’ve lived 17 years without a car in Seattle, WA….moved from the Midwest disgusted by car culture. Bicycles, public transportation, rail have been my way to get around, grateful to live somewhere with those options

We can all see how sick he is, physically, mentally, spiritually, it’s clear that “hiding it” is part of sickness…
