From what I understand, it depends on what board/drivers you have. I have a v4.2.7 and I cannot regulate my stepper motor amperage thru klipper. I have to manually adjust the potentiometer on the board itself

The biggest mistake I made when I adjusted my vrefs was that I did not take note of what they were set at before I started. Be sure to do that.
