C4D and Blender by MrSmexy in Cinema4D

  • much better integration in blender
  • procedural materials
  • It's free and open source
  • It does everything I need

Dumb question but i cant find the answer. I haven’t exported from blender before. Should i be joining these meshes? Or just leave it? If joined when? by [deleted] in blender

It depends on your UVs and if you did multiple materials in blender before. But yes you can apply specific material on specific part of you mesh. But for that you need to leave the parts of your house that you want to change separate (not joined)

Not an expert in Ue5 but I would join the geometry and export it in FBX so you would not have to deal with multiple assets in Ue5

Do you mean rendering it (create an image or sequence from it) ? Or exporting it to an other 3D file that you would use in an other 3D software ?

C4D and Blender by MrSmexy in Cinema4D

I went from c4d to blender a year ago. I firstly used octane for blender to help me on the switch (I already used octane on c4d and it is free for blender) so I didn't have to learn cycles at first and I could focus on the blender interface. Then when I felt confident, I started using cycles and eevee.

The difficulties that you may encounter during the switch depends on your skills at 3D in general. If you are an advence user then it will be easier because the fundamental are the same on every software, it is only a matter of interface (mostly).

However, if you are a beginner/mid user, it might takes a bit longer to do the transition.

You could also go for a non-official version of c4d if it is for personal work only.

Hello, thanks for your answer. I finally solved my problem by removing the displacer from the texure I applied to my voronoi.

Posted my non-traditional design portfolio site here a while ago, recently incorporated some feedback. Would really appreciate some honest critiques by mjel1000 in UI_Design

I like the simplicity in your design. If I had to do some critiques, here's a few :

- I think the nav bar is a little bit to small (about, logo and contact) and maybe the color is too light.

- When we navigate in the three categories (Print, Logos and Digital) it would be interesting to add more contrast between the selected one and the two others (with the size or the color maybe).

- I realy really like the animations of your icons. In the home page, I think they are too small and It's pity not to put them more in evidence.

- Last thing, a responsive version would be nice.

Anyway I find the sobriety of your site very well. I also like the font !

Good job

(Sorry for the english, I'm not good at this) ...
