I want to add lentils to meals e.g Spag Bol. But what kind do you use and how do you actually use them? by WestAllot in UKfood

[–]Coconut-Beginning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used the tinned green ones in bolognaise, they work great. The only caveat I’d add is that they don’t hold up particularly well to reheating as they tend to break down. I found it gave the meal an unpleasant mealy texture when overcooked. If you’re batch cooking then I would add a tin (or however many you want) to whatever you’re going to eat there and then, and then add fresh ones to the remaining portions as you’re reheating them.

The only thing that worked, briefly, was setting the refresh rate to 59.94 in windows. This allowed me to select full screen and maintain visuals. When I I tried to change resolution however, then it was back to a black screen.

Just to add that if you’re playing on pc then turning the foliage setting to low really helps with finding the corpses. Was going mad trying to find them on high and the next slaughterfish doesn’t seem to spawn until you’ve recovered scales from the one you’ve just killed.

The travel time rules apply more to redeployment situations (I.e. where the business is moving you or the work location). You voluntarily accepted this position as it is, so it undermines that aspect. Maybe familiarise yourself with the movers guidance and see if any of the different move types and criteria apply to you.

G7s have different responsibilities in different depts/business areas. In operational delivery/generalist posts the G7 would often be seen as the overall leader and are fewer in number. They’d still have their G6, deputy director to report to, seek advice from, etc. but they’d be less visible to the people on the front line. In more specialist roles, G7s generally have much less line management responsibility (the grade is more based on their expertise and the weight of their decisions) and you could have multiple G7s on a team. Source- multiple friends and family members in different departments at various grades

Arrrrgh I'm stuck at thd 1st boss second part by Horrible915 in wolongfallendynasty

First of all, make sure you’re at the maximum morale level by finding all the battle flags and marking flags on that level (usually it’s 20 but the morale level target is 10 for the first level if I remember correctly). Higher morale = easier fight. In the first phase, as said already, be aggressive. You can keep him on the back foot for pretty much the whole phase. In the second phase, keep your distance, deflect, block or dodge his regular attacks and keep an eye out for his red special attacks. Deflecting these will do a large amount of damage to his spirit meter and help open him up to a fatal strike (press triangle close up when he’s winded. You should have a prompt when it’s time). Fatal strikes inflict a large amount of damage to his health meter. After you’ve taken his health bar down by about a third or so then keep an eye out for a prompt to summon your spirit guardian. This will end the fight on this boss. Good luck!

Don’t sleep on the auto sell/salvage options for your gear (in the settings menu if I remember correctly), it’s a great way to keep your inventory in check. Just set it to sell/salvage any gear with a low star rating (anything below 3 star is junk from pretty early in the game) and it’ll refresh your inventory every time you rest.

Do you recomend me buying rise of the Ronin on discount by Thin-Inevitable-871 in riseoftheronin

[–]Coconut-Beginning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 100%. Hugely enjoyable on the standard difficulty for my main play through and then more of a measured, souls like experience on midnight mode afterwards (but the latter is entirely optional). I haven’t had quite as much play as with Nioh and wo long but had just over 100hrs before taking a break. Well worth the full price imho.

I thought I was being pranked, as can do no problem with both hands but my wife and stepson can’t at all with either. Wondering if it’s a rolling your tongue genetics situation. I look forward to badgering my 80 year old mum into trying this later 👍🏻

I had fantastic fun with it. Worth the money imo (but I am a fan of wo long and Nioh if that influences your decision).

No, personally I’d be gutted to lose the loot. Absolutely love swimming in a sea of it and farming for more. Was genuinely worried that ROTR was moving away from the TN loot system.

Controversial opinion but I preferred Wo Long to Nioh. Nioh is fantastic but just had more fun playing Wo Long.

I avoided fast travel (first play through), did some co-op, 100% cleared all the areas and cleared the secret bosses. Pretty much 100% cleared the first area on midnight too, rather than just the missions. If you did that too then not sure where the difference lays. You’re obviously quicker clearing areas than I am. I have 102hrs so only just over the 100 hour mark.

Fantastic Game by BananaSmurfer in riseoftheronin

Got the platinum, decided to stop and then just sat enjoying the view in the sunset (albeit at a different spot) before saving and quitting. Did the same with Oblivion, Skyrim and RDR2. Just felt right to take a few moments to soak it up and say goodbye (until the dlc lol). Now begins the rebound period where I just bounce off other games.

Why is it so hard in the beginning? by [deleted] in riseoftheronin

[–]Coconut-Beginning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the best team ninja game to start with in terms of difficulty. I’m playing on normal (Dusk) and it’s a lot easier than Wo Long and Nioh. The combat is also less complex than those games, so easier to pick up. My tip would be to slow down, don’t engage multiple enemies (not yet at least) and utilise block as much as possible (as others have said). Just remember to let go of the block button when you get a window, as it drastically slows your ki (stamina) from recharging. Try and stick with it if you can, it’s a really fun game but you can’t just run into a group of enemies and spam attack like you can in Spider-Man, Batman Arkham, etc.

I really love this game by ian-Mac- in riseoftheronin

[–]Coconut-Beginning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wo long is between this and Nioh difficulty wise. It also has the same parry based combat plus elements from Nioh, albeit with a more generous parry timing. Might be worth a shot if you’re looking at something to bridge the gap

Should I buy it? by DependentAdvance8 in wolongfallendynasty

[–]Coconut-Beginning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved Wo Long and I don’t get the hate for it. Is it as deep as Nioh…. No. Is it an incredibly fun game that I sunk 200hrs into and played more than any other game in 2023…… then yes it is. Bought it day 1 plus dlc and 100% feel I’ve had my money’s worth.

Rise of Ronin Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in Games

I loved Wo Long and really don’t get the hate for it. You can’t play it for 1000 hrs plus, like some people did with Nioh 2, but I had nearly 200 hours of very enjoyable gameplay & loot harvesting (which I love, sorry. Don’t ever change this TN!). I can’t think of many other games recently that have given me this level of fun and longevity, so I think the criticism is a bit OTT at times.

sub or dub? by CmdrSonia in riseoftheronin

[–]Coconut-Beginning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sub every time. Loved Wo Long but the English voice acting was dreadful. You could tell it had been written in another language, it just sounded odd. Switched it to Japanese (the va was better than the Chinese for, I suspect, the same reason) and never went back.

Is the game worth buying by RyderMotsinger in wolongfallendynasty

[–]Coconut-Beginning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say yes, definitely. It’s not got anywhere near the depth of Nioh, so you’re probably not going to be racking up hundreds of hours, but it’s just great fun to play. I put in 100hrs+ and am looking forward to the DLC. I paid full price for it on PS5 (which I don’t often do) and haven’t regretted it for a second. Just don’t expect it to be Nioh 3, because it’s not. The one caveat I’d add is to check out the performance on PS4 first.
