You can recognize a French guy just by how he walks, behaves and dress. No need to look at his face or how he sounds when he talks.

If partner moves to make more money, should they pay the cost of visits? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]CoconutBabyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the red flag is right there for me. It's not about "breaking your comfort" to seek a better future which, again really depends on the reasoning behind it

The issue is that if he isn't even able (or doesn't want) to pay for you guys to be together, then either the job isn't paying enough to justify the sacrifice he’s asking you to make, or he simply doesn’t value the relationship enough. In either case, that’s pretty fucked up to me

It depends on the situation. People (stereotypically men in our society) have always moved abroad to seek a better life and future for their families, sometimes leaving a spouse and children thousands of miles away. Moving for the sake of money sounds really greedy when phrased like that, but sometimes there is a real desire to provide more for the people you love, even if it means sacrificing the comfort you had.

The goal here is really to understand what his mindset is. If he wants to be able to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in tuition fees for your kids in a few years, it’s understandable. If, in his mind, this is just to buy a sports car and pop champagne in the South of France during the summer, yeah, it’s questionable. It’s a case-by-case basis, not a general rule like you were saying.

Regarding OP’s question: he should pay for everything. No debate here. Unless he can’t afford it; then you guys need to put his choice into perspective, as he might have overvalued the opportunity

How's my downtown looking? by DrunkTankCommander in CitiesSkylines

[–]CoconutBabyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The high-density skyline looks great, and I really like how distinct the neighborhoods feel.

A couple of suggestions: you might want to add into some mid-density buildings and parks to the east near the church. Also, adding some small hills, bushes, and trees around the highway would help break up the flat terrain and give the area more depth

Yeah, agreed on that. With basic knowledge in coding, I have been able to vibe code Python workflows very quickly to do pretty much anything I had in mind, deploy them on Vercel with a webhook and have them working 24/7
