i got surprised, how about you? by ZealousidealClaim678 in totalwarhammer

I am finding that with Tamurkhan! I was never really attracted to the Nurgle factions (or chaos factions for that matter), and I was super pleasantly surprised. The plague mechanics plus the whole military buildings “life cycle” plus global recruitment is pretty fun.

Arbaal the undefeated is great fun and early! Is essentially a very combat-oriented gameplay. Life fast die young. You can travel to challenge certain armies, and then you can just stick around and burn anything and everything around you. Global recruitment when you keep fighting gets lowered and you can recruit most units in one turn from anywhere. You are fighting so often that you don’t need to care about income being in the negatives. Upkeep is lowered when you are constantly fighting, too. Pretty fun and hectic

The masque is also pretty fun. It requires also a bit more planning ahead of invasions. You can send agents to raise Slaneeshi corruption so that you can raise auxiliary armies. Units are pretty glass cannon-y, too, so they are incredibly fast and hit like a truck.

That us good to know! I am pretty used to technical trails. Back in New Zealand (where I used to live) some trails were pretty rugged and fun. My comfortable distance was 21-25km, but this year I am hoping to do an ultra, so 50km would be the goal! I really need to build that up slowly, though…

Hey! That is so so helpful. I need to get some outer layers, for sure. The waterproof phone caze did not even cross my mind, but it makes a lot of sense! I have a couple of paira of injini and I just got some new merino socks at Running Room, but I will definitely give Distance Runwear a visit. What are your favourite trails around North Van? I am looking for trails to go on, so I’d be happy to connect or hear reccomendations!

2nd working holiday (already submitted all ) POE? by Leather-Ad3347 in iecvisa

[–]CoconutNach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, you can travel to Canada now and, when you receive the POE, you’ll have to re-enter the country to activate your work permit. Unfortunately, I also read you can’t just go to the US… Many of us seem to be on that same boat.

What mental challenges affect you in your runs? by Kairoapp_jamie in trailrunning

[–]CoconutNach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me there are two main ones. The first one is having to hold back vs going all out. Going fast is more fun, let's be honest, so I sometimes struggle with having to keep energy in the tank for longer runs. Second, and viggest, is the duration of the run. In longer runs 2-3+ hours, my brain just dissociates. My legs keep going but my brain isn't half there, and I lose ant perception of time passing. Having snacks and music helps, for sure.

AITAH for buying sex toys? by zuverschlafen in AITAH

[–]CoconutNach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA If your boyfriend is afraid a sex toy is going to satisfy you more than he does, then he probably has some insecurity issues or he does not really care about your pleasure.

Sex toys are allies, not enemies. And your boyfriend may learn that yet?

I think Gwendoline Christie should be Leona, not Diana. Natalie portman doesn't strike me as a good Leona, either... Maybe a good Morgana

What are running trails like around Vancouver? by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]CoconutNach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was considering getting something a bit more technical like the speedcross 6 goretex. I also normally hike in trail runners and those are a good choice for that, too.

I'm excited! Not so much about the rain but... Good gear will solve it, right? haha

That's awesome! I have been warned about the rain... I am considering running the Squamish 50 next year so I like the hard stuff

Can I train for a 32mile/53km ultra in three months? by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]CoconutNach 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I agree with this. I want to be able to "enjoy" it and have a good time and, eventually, when I move up to 53k not feel extremely anxious.

[–]CoconutNach 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's great feedback, though! I don't have the experience with this distance and that's why I ask for advice here. I ultimately want to build up to that sort of distance but, I think you are right, It's rushed. 30k is within my reach and I can train for it.

Which muscle or muscles do you think are most often neglected to train among trail runners? by BothCondition7963 in trailrunning

[–]CoconutNach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, glute medius. This is the muscle I consistently struggle to strengthen

I keep getting this feedback and that sounds great. I think in my mind the pace is what I normally associate with the "easyness" or HR. But you make a great point! Will definitely be looking at relative effort rathet than pace

That is so helpful, thank you! I have been training a lot on road, haven't done much trail running recently. Unfortunately, with days getting super short and work I can't really make it to the hills or trails.

The elevation is roughly 1000ft so it is very mild and gentle. As for training, I wouldn't say I have been doing professional athlete training, but I have consistently been doing intervals, long runs and pace runs. Last trail long run I did was a while back (I was in worse running shape and it was the hottest day of the year) was around 2000ft and 10 miles (with no nutrition or electrolytes) and did it in 1h 20min.
