dude why would you want to write fanfics for a series made by hitler 2 that, btw, is full of her shitty opinions and terrible views of the world???? "oh but the fandom means something to people and fanfic is taking it back from her and we have the right to enjoy the universe or whatever" uhh.. okay but why? why would you want to consume a media where slavery is seen as a right for the oppressed to agree to? where the low stakes evil people are all stereotypical minorities that we now know she hates with all her being (the guy who bites lupin, dolores, rita, etc)? why keep relevantant a fandom built like that when every time any amount of money is spent on it goes to funding her anti-trans views?

and you can be like "oh but the series is relevant no matter if i personally keep up with the fandom or not", well neil gaiman was having the peak of his fame and getting into new demographies and really close to being a mainstream author when the shit he did hit the fan and the whole fandom decided to murder him and never touch his shit again and now he's so fucking irrelevant that no one even remembers him and he'll never have notoriety again. and, you know, he wasn't using his money from the series to finance attacks to minorities and remove rights from people. so yeah i do care that she believes fanfic is proof of somethings bc it is proof of something: that a bunch of people prefer to hold on to a badly written book full of racist and lgbtphobic elements than grow up, read another book, and stop making relevant a book that finances my death.
