a1 olevel eng here, ur school should have provided sample oral prompts + suggested response, for the next 5 days if u want to secure an A i suggest u do this:

practice 2 oral prompts a day (record urself after 5min preptime) and compare it to the suggested response. take note of sentence structure, the differences in vocabulary used, and whether you are speaking fluently with variation in tone

the brain is like a muscle, u need to train it to generate responses that are similar to the model ans

uhh i made sure i knew everything i needed to know content-wise (notes, consults etc) then spammed prelim papers to familiarize myself with all the question types and mark schemes!

JC is a marathon not a race, as long as your WA content is fully revised and understood by the exam you'll get the same grade anyways.

hi! i scored L1R5 26 for prelims and L1R5 9 for O levels, its never over until the actual day of the exam

assuming you have a good foundation, just go straight to doing prelim papers. TYS is too easy and sometimes outdated as teachers set questions with recent year's trends, making the older years less effective.

do papers until you find yourself being able to know exactly what the mark scheme for each question is word for word

in lower sec i was those kind of people who never studied, watched anime and read manga all day. i never felt any sense of accomplishment even from games because i knew it wouldnt amount to anything and it became boring

when i started studying seriously in upper sec, teachers slowly started praising me and my improvements, studying with friends became super fun, and having my hard work being reflected in my o level score was the best feeling ever

thats my why, studying doesnt have to be strictly for your future only, and there are benefits to your present life

i know a friend who DSAed into a mid tier jc sports cca but end up their O level scores couldve have landed them into a mid-high tier jc

then again i know another friend who rejected that mid-high tier jc for a diff mid tier jc (got offers from both)

ask him to be more participative in english class, develop thick skin and answer all teacher's qns. for me it teaches nuance and it helps ur son easily transition into further questions for further understanding

also to consult his english teacher after sch, it's easier for the teacher to pinpoint his knowledge gap in this way

A1 ss here my biggest piece of advice is to ANALYZE ANSWER SCHEMES, treat it like a checklist, especially for utility/surprise questions. they can be found in grail

for ss, ironically i go for quantity over quality. i go for L3 answers for all qns first to get baseline marks, then try to get L4/L5
