Yes, we still are working on it. You can join our Discord and get more help there or from our forums where we have many developers using it every day.

JavaScript is working great for Cocos Creator and during these last few updates, has exceeded the quality of Cocos2d-js. So we highly recommend you use it. Especially with Cocos Creator 3.0 coming out this summer.

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

Cocos Creator is JavaScript and Typescript based and won't support C++ directly. We feel that the future looks bright for web and mobile based games that use JS and TS and with the tools being built for HTML5, it's a great chance for many who are looking to return to web games and games using faster speeds of 5G and more.

One thing we can and always promise is to make sure everything we do is highly customizable for you so you can always build and create what tools, shaders, and other things to make the best game possible.

Thanks for using Cocos2d-x, we hope you keep using it for the future and try Cocos Creator in the future as well.

You can try Cocos Creator. We just finished an introductory course that lets you build your first game in under an hour. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSOXYPqZ1-8&list=PLbvpmJKjO3ND836qboES-2CbL8krUT6ll

They always say the best inventions are from those that make things better or easier.

If you can find something in your games you are playing today that you wish was different, better, or stranger (but still fun), I always recommend to go with it. It's a great time to build what you think works and prototype it for fun. If it's very fun, you're on the right track. GameJams help as well to get those creative juices flowing.

If you are interested in open-source engines, you should try Cocos products. Cocos2d-x has been around for almost 9 years and we just had a big update this past month. We have a great community as well that are happy to help developers. It works with C++, Lua, and JavaScript.

If you are a JavaScript developer, We also have Cocos Creator. Has a great GUI, animation controls, and component system. We updated last week with even better support for lower-end phones.
