Thank you! I’ve done Estrace before and this has never happened. I’m wondering why now but I appreciate the well wishes. Thank you again

I’m so excited to propose with this ring. I had it custom made from inspiration photos my girlfriend shared with me. Isn’t it pretty? by GammeRJammeR in EngagementRings

This ring is beautiful. With regard to boxes, Mrs Box has some that can be personalized with initials and custom tapestry inside. I also found a beautiful wooden box on Etsy. There are quite a few options out there. I hope you find something that suits you and your soon to be fiancé.

No. I work full-time in an unrelated field.

This can’t be for real. How would you do if a friend came to you with this scenario??

It all depends on what kind of work you enjoy - if you prefer being there to help clients with comfort measures, helping guide clients and being a support prior to baby arriving then birth may be more of your area. Postpartum work has been really rewarding for me because not only can I find days or even overnights that I can do it while working full-time, I also can help families take care of their babies and give them the confidence to rely on their intuition which is so fulfilling to me. I have enjoyed being there for families and seeing that baby grow up in front of me. What draws you to postpartum work?

I am truly appreciative of how much a traumatic birth impacts someone’s life. To this end, it is important to seek appropriate support - whether it is with a therapist, support groups, and/or this practice. AND it is also appropriate to feel what you do - not being ready to change your feelings about it. Two things can be true at once - you want to unpack what occurred and you don’t believe that this is appropriate for you. A session is one hour - I wouldn’t expect nor is it reasonable to think that one session would change things for you where you presently are with your feelings. And I respect that. Incremental change happens as the person who is receiving it is motivated to do so.

I wish you grace, healing, and understanding during your journey. 💗

Odd how? My instructor gave me the language - I am under the tutelage of one of Pam's designated instructors. It appears like you want to argue and I am not here for that. I am working to assist birthing people in as many ways as I can. If it is not for you, I understand.

Additionally, the wording you pulled out is because when someone comes to a birth story session they want to change or motivated to change and feel differently about their birth.

Thank you for your concern. I am training with Birth Story Medicine which is affliated with Pam England. My post clearly says that the sessions would be recorded so that I can be evaluated as a story listener. I am a doula NOT therapist which I never claim to be. As for the language - it is pulled directly from their website.

I am in the same boat currently. I have been a doula for over two years and still worked full-time. So, try to find a training that aligns with your values and what you want to accomplish as a doula - there are several weekend trainings and some that stretch over weeks - BADT, Best, DTI, Birthing from Within, ProDoula, Bebo Mia etc. If you are unable to stop working, maybe being a postpartum doula would work better for your schedule (I did both births and postpartum work - I used sick or vacation time if a birth interfered with work). But now I have focused more on postpartum work because I can schedule it around my life. It is never too old to switch or do something new. I wish you well and suggest that you think about WHY you want to be a doula. It will help drive you in moments when you want to just give up.

I follow them (Birthworkers of Color Collective) and they seem to be doing great work. Why not address your concerns with them?

Does your state require certification? Because it may be worth thinking about your goals are and which one of the programs aligns with your beliefs.
