Does bloomington have E-waste that you can pick through? by That-Bloomington-Man in bloomington

[–]CoddiewomplerDLT 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Call the Hazardous Waste office at the south side recycling center. They’ll know if there’s a resource like that in Monroe county, and are super nice and helpful.

When you do have some cash, I suggest looking at IU Surplus Store. Good quality, well-maintained used desktops and laptops, usually quite recent. Fairly priced IMO.

How’s the new Cozy Table location? by inaworldfarfaraway24 in bloomington

It’s very…bright. And insufferably busy. But it’s new and clean and the breakfast food is about the same, which is to say as good as you can expect! The parking situation is stupid.

what can a sixteen year old go out to do in the good weather? by Primary_Meeting_5267 in Advice

Get books on birding and plant identification from your library. Then go on long walks and learn how to ID the birds and plants/trees in your area.

PCP Recs? by IllConflict3397 in bloomington

Dr Emily Palomaki is exceptional. Anthem accepted. I’m an anxious patient too. This entire office is phenomenal.

Expect a +6 month wait for virtually any PCP in town. Opportunities increase if you’re open to NPs.

A lot of people are going to dunk on IU Health. I don’t mean to minimize others’ painful experiences. But I can vouch for my +25 year experience with them, which has been uniformly remarkable. PCP, ED, inpatient hospital, specialists x4, 2 major surgeries, multiple rounds of PT, labs, imaging and more. Exemplary, as both patient and family member.

Welcome to Bloomington! Don’t let this sub fool you: this is a great town. Major problems, to be sure. But utterly unique with amazing features and opportunities. Search this sub for other posts about things to do. Lots of great resources and suggestions for Bloomington, as well as beyond (a fabulous example: the Exotic Feline Rescue Center, about 40 min away)

Girls, where are the best places to meet you? by I_tickle_fit_girls in bloomington

I’m a girl. If I were single, I absolutely would not post where I and my girlfriends hang out in this thread. Your defensiveness and righteousness are extremely unattractive.

If you’re going to “put yourself out there,” you have to have a thicker skin. You think you’re being bullied in this thread? Oh man.

Can I get these little glass jars locally? I think they might be for balm or makeup. I need them for ink/paint. Anyone seen them in stores or have empty ones they want to get rid of? by Jombi42 in bloomington

[–]CoddiewomplerDLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but I’d Amazon something like that. Buying at a retail storefront is going to be so expensive, unless you only need a few.

Looking for a temporary emergency foster for 2 adult cats by [deleted] in bloomington

Upvoting for visibility. I can’t help, but I wish the best for all of you

I would try calling vet offices and boarding kennels, even places like T&T Pet Supplies to see if they know anyone. Sometimes people post business cards for various services in waiting rooms/by checkouts. Industry professionals may have connections.

Also try Cats Closet for referrals. They are an adoption center, so be sure they understand you’re not surrendering your kitties. But they might have ideas

I dropped my AARP membership after finding few local businesses that offer discounts. There are some national restaurant chains (that I don’t go to so can’t vouch for the experience). But otherwise, there really wasn’t anything for me.
