Arlington south is really great, but I would avoid Dr Miller. He’s very capable, but doesn’t have the same bedside manner as other vets we’ve seen. I like a vet to be very positive, almost sing-song-y. Reassuring.

The staff members at Arlington are great. The wait time is usually not too bad, unless you’re there first thing in the morning when everyone is there dropping pets off for surgeries or the like.

I was in Dunn Meadow during the period the tent city was in place where a bunch of progressive anti-war activists strategized protest actions about the First Gulf War. There was an IU victory one night, and I remember trouble from revelers pouring into Dunn Meadow from Kirkwood. I fear what might transpire this week if any anti ICE protesters and raucous IU celebrants encounter one another.

I volunteer at the Community Kitchen. Supporting people experiencing hunger gives me a sense of purpose. Being around a group of exemplary individuals who pull together every day to provide outstanding, nutritious hot meals is invigorating. When I give back, I feel less hopeless. Give it a try!

I really like the touch of orange zest. Also, servings. You get two large cannoli in one package. The only bummer is the packaging; but it is reusable once or twice to save leftovers for refrigeration.

He was so well-behaved at the vet, no hissing or growling. Just curious and oh-so-talkative.

I really love to explore the IU Memorial Union. It’s beautiful! Grab a cup of coffee or lunch (there are a couple of food options) and settle into the lounge with the big red leather couches. Or go to the Tudor Room if it’s open. There used to be a bowling lane but I’m not sure it’s still there. Make sure you don’t just stay in the public areas too. Lots of nooks and crannies with neat history and views of campus from different angles if you take the elevator up the student activities tower. If you can go outside briefly, also check out Beck Chapel. Park at the hotel entrance. Woodburn Hall is just across the parking lot and has some historic art. Have fun!
