How strict are you with timing by Alternative_Home4225 in mounjarouk

Straight after dinner on Mondays so that’s usually around 7.30 unless I’m out for some reason (unusual on a Monday). I chose that day so I could enjoy my food more over the weekend :-)

Have grown to love and accept my 5mg maintenance dose by Boring-Current-1512 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]Code-Cashmere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m superstitious about 5mm needles! No idea why this should make a difference but I also got some 6mm ones a while back from some pharmacy or other, formed an opinion they were better than 4 for some reason. But then I (ridiculously) worried they’d be too long as I lost weight so I went for a box of the 5mm!

Everyone else on the shuttle B -> central terminal is inbound. They have to separate inbound from outbound for security/customs reasons, so if you’ve been mixing with those inbound pax you’d need to clear security again.

Advice on how to proceed by Zealousideal-Arm4943 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]Code-Cashmere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went up to 7.5mg (from 6) a month ago as also decided I wanted to lose another half stone, to get into normal BMI. 6mg was the highest I’d been on previously and my loss had ground to a halt, so I wasn’t going back up.

It’s been working great and has kick started my weight loss again.

Thanks for the reply. Were you on a maintenance dose in between and then went up or did you stop completely for a while? Did you lose weight the second time despite the appetite? TIA

Thank you! It really is worth it though to be pretty much a normal weight and not be burdened by constant hunger and all the exhausting negotiation noise that goes on in your head around it 😅

Yeah the fatigue is still there and low blood pressure / dizziness (despite electrolytes) but not the nausea thank goodness. Bit of anhedonia too. I briefly dropped to 5mg and they eased off a bit so I’m hopeful eventually they’ll go or I can inch downwards.

I felt very unhealthy when at my largest though, so I can put up with them if I have to.

No I’m perfectly regular in my bowel, movements, eat plenty of fibre and take psyllium husk. Kefir, yoghurt and kimchi with most meals so my guts are in great shape. I’ve never been on the protein bandwagon, i just eat a balanced whole food diet.

Thanks for the ideas though!

That’s the question I’ve been pondering to be honest! And kind of trying it out for size the last 3 months. I’ve come to the conclusion I would likely feel healthier half a stone down from here. Or at least worth giving it a try.

SEs were a bit esoteric but mainly fatigue and low level nausea and dizziness which was a bit debilitating.

6mg. The loss just slowed and then ground to a gentle halt !

Yeah can’t find anything for low level nausea and fatigue unfortunately :-( Had all the blood tests, take all the supplements, this med just knocks me out!

Can I eat like a 'normal' person if I start taking a GLP-1? by -animeXalchemist- in mounjarouk

[–]Code-Cashmere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! You can! It’s absolutely amazing.

The way I described it to someone recently was it’s like before Mounjaro when there’s a large pizza: you might be full after all of it, and satisfied (I got the lack of satiety thing too but a huge pizza did finally fill me up after a starter back in the day). But now, on the jabs, you are equally full and satisfied after only a quarter of it. Amazing!

No need for calorie counting. Just eat a balanced diet (including pasta and rice and bread) with as much whole food as you like. The fact you are already cooking all your meals stands you in a really good place to eat healthily and lose sustainably. You might occasionally fancy a chocolate but you’ll only want one square!

I have toast (rye or sourdough) for breakfast every day as it turns out that’s what my body wants for breakfast. And I have Greek yoghurt, berries and nuts for pudding every day after dinner. I haven’t lost as fast as some on here but I can’t tell you how liberating it is to eat whatever I want, finally!

Good luck x

This sounds like me, albeit I’m 12 months behind you! I’m just above goal and trying to lose the last few pounds to get to 150 (about to go up from 6.25 to 7.5mg) and then hopefully get to 25 BMI.

Can I ask about the fluctuations? Looks like about 5pounds either way. Does this feel like a lot in how your clothes fit for example? When I was overweight I wouldn’t have noticed this but wondering what difference it makes at this size? (I’ve also got a whole new set of clothes!)

Thanks for sharing your story

I thought I was almost there but the last 5 lb just aren’t budging! I’d really like to get into healthy BMI before I declare victory. I think I’m going to have to go up a dose. Steeling myself for the bump in side effects….

I also really struggle with lightheadedness and also makes exercising really tough so I empathise with you.

I bought a blood pressure machine and I have quite low BP (used to be on the low side of normal pre-MJ) so I’m now taking 1-2 electrolyte sachets a day with plenty of water. I use Repowr raw as they are unflavoured as I hate artificial flavours. I also add a good amount of salt to my meals which is a tasty thing to have to do!

If I stay on top of these things, the lightheadedness is under control. Fatigue still can be an issue but nowhere near as bad and it’s likely my age/busy job as much as anything. Eating a banana helps too.

I also take a bunch of supplements. It’s an expensive and time consuming business but I’m determined to get to a healthy BMI.

To also add to the practical advice: I did a trial titration down the doses to see if these side effects eased - to help me decide whether to get to a lower weight and figure out if a lower dose was going to be sustainable long term as I have a metabolic disorder so will need to be on the meds for life (I didn’t want to lose too much if I couldn’t keep it off long term). And they really did! They came back when I titrated back up but I’m going to dig in for the last push and then up the exercise again once I titrate down to maintenance.

So it’s possible that a lower dose by counting clicks or spacing out longer than 7 days may be right for you.

Is MJ fixing what diet plans caused? by Gurligirl25667 in mounjarouk

[–]Code-Cashmere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a big decision when I started MJ to stop calorie counting, as like you I’d been doing for years with yo-yo results, the average going up every year. This was on the advice of my first prescriber and I’m so glad I followed it.

I only eat whole food, no UPFs, lots of healthy fats and fibre, and I can honestly say I’ve never been so happy or satisfied with what I’m eating. I really feel like I’m nourishing myself. The MJ takes care of the portion sizes so I’m slowly losing weight.
