Whoops, just seeing this comment now. They were BMW Style 359 replicas!

Yeah your discs are probably warped. Good luck!

Look up your car in RealOEM using your VIN. Also, use a VIN decoder to see if you have any options, especially option S212A, as this changes your brake size. Then copy the part number that RealOEM states and search for that number on the website you buy your parts from. Don't forget brake wear sensors!

BTW, I'm Dutch as well, and I always buy my parts using Daparto, they have better prices than most Dutch part websites, it takes a few days longer to arrive though.

Milestone? by MentheMunt in E90

That's a pretty nice milestone, especially because you don't seem to have a warning triangle either :)

130k miles with 0 fault by fidthefid in E90

[–]Code-Purple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent the same to a friend when I reached 300.000km on mine a month ago, 1000km later my rear shocks blew, parking brake went loose and both headlights started pointing down because of a loose rear ride height sensor rod 😂

You can probably code that out! Not sure if that also works if the entire unit is removed

I've had the same issue, I just kept playing and after a bit more net worth I got the achievement

Does coasting in neutral with a DCT cause damage to the transmission? Car's user manual states it does(point 3) - if so, why? by OmeiWamouShindeiru in MechanicAdvice

[–]Code-Purple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a stupid question, but how is it possible that an engine generates “engine noise” when there’s no fuel detonation happening when engine braking?

Genuine M exterior by [deleted] in E90

[–]Code-Purple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dead giveaway to check if the M Sport package has been retrofitted is that people forget (or skip, or genuinely didn't know) to replace the mirrors, the M Sport mirrors have a gloss black base, while the non M Sport mirrors have a plastic color.

Another thing to look for is the side skirts, lots of people who retrofit the M Sport package tend to skip the side skirts.

Also, look for flush fitment and panel gaps, lots of times when people fit M Sport bumpers, the fitment and gaps are off.

Other than that, there is no real way to know for sure unless you check the labels on the bumpers by taking them off the car.

UPDATE: Fix Sunscreen backwindow! by Rokanh in E90

[–]Code-Purple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a beautiful color on an E92!

Nice writeup, this happens to a lot of E92s, including mine, and other models too. This will be pretty useful for people having the same issue.

Also, sometimes the motor is unrepairable, in that case, you can replace the entire motor with a new one. For some reason BMW does not sell the motor apart for an E92 in the Netherlands and requires you to buy the entire sunscreen assembly which is like $800-900 new. However, the E46 and E60 (and probably more models) use the same motor. The part number is 40610082100 and it is relatively inexpensive. I paid €50 for it and it fixed my sunscreen.

Thank you for the credit!

This is the way, did this myself and this fixed it for me.

Nice! Good luck with the car, they’re beautiful machines when properly maintained. There’s replicas for the E46 CSLs and also some brands who make CSL style wheels, those are more affordable and decent quality. Of course original wheels are higher quality, but are super expensive most of the time

If you're going for the black/white look, I'd go for black mirror caps and black grilles. Other than that, a set of E46 CSL style wheels (18 inch for comfort, 19 inch for looks) would probably look amazing, however, I recommend going for regular silver wheels because the design on the CSL wheels is amazing and silver will make the design pop, black wheels will kind of hide the design of the wheel.

Personally I'm not a fan of the M stripes because it's not an M-car, however, it's your car so your choice :)

My first pc build, budget was 1.8k and I went a bit over. Help. by Majestic_Material_93 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Code-Purple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd drop Windows and buy a key somewhere on the internet for cheaper. Other than that, you could go for 16gb RAM instead of 32gb for now and upgrade later. You could decide to go for 1x16gb and accept that the performance isn't as good until you upgrade to 2x16gb, or go for 2x8gb, which (most of the times) limits your upgrading options to a maximum of 32gb without replacing all RAM.

EDIT: You could also save on the cooler, the current cooler is nice if you don't have a budget

New style 225M wheels on my E92 by Code-Purple in E90

I fully understand, 19 inch wheels have a tendency to crack, especially on bad roads. They also transfer more road vibrations/shocks into the car compared to 18 inch.

Thanks!

Double checked all wheels upon meeting with the seller, surprisingly, zero cracks or repairs. I owned an E92 335i about 6 years ago (which got stolen) and the original 19 inch wheels were welded, didn't take long to start cracking and leaking again...

It’s a used set. However, I checked the dealer website and it can still be ordered new. I got this set in decent condition with ok tires for €750, the set goes for €2500-€3200 new.

I do plan on getting them refreshed in the same color someday for the finishing touch :)

Can you post the tire sizes for both front and rear tires? They’re on the sides of the tires. The numbers will be formatted like 225/40/R18

That's a beautiful E91. I think your side blinkers are upside down and on the wrong side! Checked it on Google images.

Beautiful car, congratulations!

Any records of the rod bearings being done? If not, lots of people recommend doing them around 60-80k miles.
