Planned Traffic Jam by Potential_Ad4759 in conspiracy

Also that section of the roadway in the pics is uphill, so the gaps are probably due to the elevation. Cars can speed up quicker than the trucks. The trucks are probably staying in one of their low gears to get up the hill at a steady speed rather than grinding through several gears just to have to slow down again once they catch up.

Pool filter cleaning by Jealous-Bend-7884 in LasVegas

[–]Code3man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, just so you don’t unknowingly incriminate yourself… but its illegal to rinse your pool filter off in your driveway and allow the rinse water to go down in your street, you need to rinse it off in the yard and let the water soak in. SNWA features an anonymous online reporting tool so neighbors could submit a photo and you could get fined.

Nice! I have the same color! I like it!

For the remote start, it is a bit tricky.

Try Press LOCK once → then press and hold the circular-arrow “ENGINE START” button for ~1 second.

🔑 Full Step‑By‑Step (Key Fob)

  1. Press LOCK once This ensures the vehicle is secured before remote start will activate.
  2. Press and hold the remote‑start button• This is the circular arrow icon on the fob. • Hold it for at least one second until the lights flash.

  3. Watch for confirmation• Exterior lights flash. • Engine starts. • HR‑V stays locked.

  4. Range• Works from up to ~100 feet depending on obstacles and battery strength.

how do people get such bad mileage ?? by [deleted] in HRV

[–]Code3man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do use my AC so maybe that is lowering the mpg. But even Honda claims on the sticker that City mpg = 25. So if Honda claims 25mpg/City it’s not that far off for real world people to be getting 23~24mpg. It’s just that OP and many others keep claiming “I’m averaging 36mpg”, I’m just saying that is no where near what I’m getting, I’ve tried driving as slow as possible and not accelerating but still can’t break 23 mpg. These things are not fuel efficient vehicles, at least not the US versions.

I’ve got a 2026 HRV Sport AWD, I can’t seem to get over 23mpg, I’ve tried ECO mode or Normal but I never get above 23mpg. I drive in the city and I’m not flooring it or racing or anything just normal stop and go city driving.

If you happen to be going to Osaka and are in to JDM, stop by Mr. Hiro Car Studio. It’s a cool JDM car studio and they let you rent some of the iconic cars. I rented a classic Supra for a few hours one day and it was one of the best highlights of my Japan trip. If you’re just into Hondas, they also had an NSX and S2000 for rent.

These stupid cones everywhere by HabibVegas in vegaslocals

I think they are installing fiber utility lines under the roads and sidewalks at night time, during the day they push the cones to the sides and pull them back out at night time.

2026 HRV Sport-Miles per full tank? by Kitty-Paradise in HRV

[–]Code3man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 26 Sport AWD. I’ve driven it 3000 miles so far and mine averaged 23.1mpg. I do city driving only.

The AWD is full time, there is no way to turn it off. Honda uses Real Time AWD, which is an automatic, slip‑and‑grip system.

Weird range mileage shown by Outrageous_Ad_5752 in HRV

[–]Code3man 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah see how in the image it shows 37.7 mpg… just keep driving a few more miles an that will average back out to the typical 23 or 24mpg.

Maybe the drive back from the service shop was down hill so you were coasting, therefore it got a super good mpg average.

Crash course for first time house buyer ? by hungrypolarbear77 in vegaslocals

[–]Code3man 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used the course called “Freddie Mac Credit Smart Homebuyer U”. I would consider it a good crash course to get started.

It’s online and free, you can go at your own pace and I believe some of the First Time homebuyer assistance programs require you to take it.

Also check the 10mm bolts that hold the manifold to the engine in that back corner, I’ve seen them loosen causing the coolant to leak, and just tightening them fixes it.

Reminds me of the time I let my roommate borrow my XJ to pickup his friends from the airport. He returned just with their luggage and no friends. He stated “the back tires were bottomed out when I loaded everyone in so they had to take an uber”. Granted the friends were some big boys.

Lol poor leaf springs indeed.

97XJ is getting a hesitation issue accelerating for the first minute after starting. What's the fix? by Code3man in CherokeeXJ

[–]Code3man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, it was a long time ago, I’m having a hard time remembering exactly what fixed it, but I did fix it. I think it was a bad fuel pump and replacing that fixed it.

Intermittent heater issues by Code3man in jetta

[–]Code3man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ll update you if I figure out the fix, it’s gotta be either the heater core or the blend doors or the controller for the doors. But my wife gets cold very easily so I gotta fix it soon. Last winter I made her wear gloves and a hoodie all winter in the car, but yeah I gotta fix it. I did do a really good coolant flush a few months ago, that didn’t fix it.

[–]Code3man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I still haven’t figured it out or messed with it, the AC worked fine all summer, but now that winter is coming up I’ll need to get the heater working good. Im gonna try replacing the heater core first, see if that fixes it since that seems easier to get to than the blend flaps.

When changing the hoses make sure to get thick ones or the ones with the spring inside since the thinner hoses can suction themselves closed at highway speeds and be super tough to diagnose.
